The Future of U.S.-Egypt Relations - **Cancelled**
The House Committee on Foreign Affairs under chairwomen Ileana Ros-Lehtinen was set to hold a hearing on Eygpt. But -apparently- The Future of U.S.-Egypt Relations was cancelled.
There are likely only very few Egyptians bothered by this.Posted by b on September 19, 2012 at 13:33 UTC | Permalink

Quote of the Day:
www.thenational.ae/thenationalconversation/comment/in-region-where-us-policy-is-dynamite-film-is-detonator#full
"To suggest, as the New York Times does, that [the current wave of riots and demonstrations] may derive from the Obama administration not taking a tough enough line against political Islam is as deluded as it is dangerous.
Were it not for preexisting and deeply felt outrage over US invasions of Muslim countries, support for Israel and contempt for the Palestinians, as well as Washington's backing of friendly Arab despots, its drone strikes and more, this film would be like a detonator without dynamite."

The Muslim Brotherhood is the proverbial hot potato, particularly with Mursi wanting to take over a leadership position for Egypt in the Middle East. Currently he has formed a new quartet -- one that doesn't include Bliar[sic] -- and proposes to work with Iran, Saudi Arabia and Turkey on solving Syria. There's little chance of success, but really, who does Mursi think he is, not knowing his place. Mubarak would've never done it.
How could the U.S. possibly deal with such a situation? Don't they know who pays the bills?
I guess not. Cancel the meeting. Enjoy b's joke -- Egyptians will. That Egyptians are funny is a well-known Arab stereotype. Egyptians are said to be “khafeefit al-damm” (light of blood) – able to turn things that would make anyone else’s blood boil into a joke. (h/t - The Daily Star)
My contribution: Ileana Ros-Lehtinen has so much hate for Iran she has none left over for Egypt! haha
The committee's whole website looks like it's the porcine chairwoman's facebook page.
