You rarely see a dignified or flattering picture of a person of color in the news section of the MSM. And dark faces were scarce on TV before the producers began presenting dysfunctional behavior as entertainment. And any country that engages in this and other sorts of selective discrimination, as Israel has done and continues to do, has no business calling itself a modern-day democracy! You gotta admit them Marines are innovative!!! Recognizing that we can’t “win” the hearts and minds of the global Muslim community, these industrious uniformed patriots have devised a clever plot to PURCHASE their hearts and minds. Marlon Brando, I believe, made a pertinent comment on this (but wisely, only in old age). I only went to Israel once, 25 years ago, and while aware of its history / the Palestinians, etc. I was astonished at all the petty-minded religious, ethnic, racial, nationalist “racisms”, as well as the reliance on cues or criteria of wealth, status, relations, background, etc. A pecking order so fine-grained and so lunatic it would take you 20 years to dope it out, to no purpose. I went there for work, it seemed to me that ppl could get nothing done because they were so immersed in the clannish in-group relations and discrimination towards other groups (not counting Palestinians who were non ppl.) And those were the good times! Israel was in far better shape at that time than today.
