I wonder, as the Christians in Iraq cower behind closed doors, unable to openly practice their faith, and celebrate the birth of Christ….
Do our murderous lying sacks of shit in Washington DC, responsible for the deaths of over a million Iraqi non-combatants, really find an affinity with Christ after bathing themselves in so much blood??
A nation so obsessed with war and bigotry has no business attaching God’s name to our celebrations. We are undeserving of our excesses, and celebrate when we should bow our heads in shame.

i once as a teen told an Irish priest “Merry Christmas”, and he was quick to correct me that “i don’t get merry.” so it was Happy Christmas for him, yet he seemed quite miserable to me. Merry Christmas, everyone. 😉

Yep. I think that is a widely held sentiment. Surely, could we tap the energy of all the December 26th sighs of relief, we could supply the wind to send a fleet of tall ships to Tahiti.
Certainly, it is an extremely stressful time of the year. Teetotalers get drunk, the depressed get suicidal, and the lonely get prozac. It would be interesting to see the stats about the volume of anti-depressants prescribed and sold during the month of December, as opposed to other months. Doesn’t take a Rocket Scientist to hazard a theory about it, eh?
So, folks, Happy Day After Christmas, if you fall into any of the above described category!!!
And if you’re one of those hapless folks that threw away your sobriety, pick yourself up, and try again. I’m watching a buddy drink himself to death, after fourteen years clean and sober. Its an ugly way to go.
