Some Afghan People

A meditative short movie from Afghanistan (Mazar-i Sharif and Kabul).

Afghanistan – touch down in flight from Augustin Pictures.

I recommend watching this full screen and in HD. So many details …

b, very touching and emotional. What I find striking is that our western culture demands changes to other cultures without realizing that happiness is not wide screen lcds and other electronic gadgets, not fast food on every corner, etc… I experienced the same in Vietnam many years ago….

Thanks b, very poignant. Surely, autonomy for the Afghan people should be the West’s goal, instead of lusting over their resources & regional hegemony.

Thanks b, I will take a look at it later tonight, or maybe tomorrow when I have the time to fully digest it and reflect on it.

Yes, it was beautiful, b. Thanks for sharing it. An animated collage to music…..I adore that form of artistic expression…..it becomes multi-dimensional and adds a depth that is otherwise missing.
Only a sociopath could look at this and not be moved. There are a lot of sociopaths…..and they are not moved by this, or anything like it. It’s what allows them to do the things they do, and the system under which we operate, creates them and perpetuates them in a ruthless feedback loop. The operating system must be shutdown and replaced, but can it without wholesale calamity of one sort, or another. That’s the question, and if I were a wagering person, I’d say the odds are slim that it will happen without the seas running with blood and much gnashing of teeth.
