Moon of Alabama Brecht quote
June 10, 2009
Sorry …

… for not posting more elaborate and thoughtful stuff these days. I recently ran into some rather personal problems and those leave little time and mental capacity to blog.

But I am sure you have some thoughts worthwhile to be published and to be read. Please leave them in the comments or send them to me via email to MoonofA_at_aol_dot_com.

No apologies necessary from this quarter, b. This is still the best site for general purpose pertinent global information of high credibility with lively and often profound commentary to boot. I still check in most every day. Take care of what is needed and our thoughts will be with you as you do.

b
i am also in very difficult situation so i understand well your situation in relation to concentration
like juannie, i visit every day & the work you have established is elaborated well by other comrades & there is a sense too to your posts – thjey relate always to real concerns & not the brutal melodrame that most media market
this site offers means for reflection even in the hardest times

I have to echo what Juannie said. This is still my #1 stop, but you have some of the same needs as any other human. Hopefully good fortune will come your way, and we’ll of course still be here looking over the issues of the day.

nabil
i’ve been here since the beginning & here in france surrounded by soorw & mass of media – but the moon brings me not only pertinence but clarity – real information but none of the noise – i’m glad there are comrades from elsewhere who connect & communicate

i’ve never really posted but i’ve been reading this since billmon decided to stop all the comments on his site and you decided to take over. great great site!

B, even with a reduced number of your analytic posts and word count will your blog beat the competition hands down. So I wouldn’t stress about the bar, the whiskey is as warming as ever and the patrons here make this a great hangout no matter what. Just re-reading some of your older posts and OT threads is highly informative (should I really not be able to find anything new to read), absorbing the wealth of info at the Moon a second time round helps me connecting dots I previously didn’t recognise. Anyhow, I wish you and rgiap all the strength you need to get through these troubling times. I am sure you’ve got it in you. Best wishes, J.

b
How many times have I read your words and said: Why didn’t I think of that?
Our thoughts can’t replace yours, so hang in there, my friend.

no pressure to deliver, b. i know there are some barflies here who can pull together a fine post or two in the meantime.

I don’t know how you keep up this pace, as you do, b. I have fought off a sense of exhaustion lately; and it’s been difficult to write anything, except for a poem now and then. The sense that my country can recover the moral compass that’s been lost down some crevice of the sofa, seems a slim prospect at best.
I got off the bus, and was running this evening through a tremendous Texas downpour that’s still going on. I got home just drenched to the skin and was pouring water out of my shoes after I dried off. But some wine warmed me up.
This blog is one of the sources I read every day, which I have depended upon for a long time. I’m sorry that I can’t absorb as much as I once could; but I turned 63 recently and my brain is beginning to shrink, I believe. My nervous system has been strained to the point of numbness.
Thanks to everyone here for providing a place where we can reflect and learn as we grow older. I feel very close to all whose whose words bring such a mixture tenderness and passion and have, in no small way, kept me sane.

‘I said, Hey Chester, I’m a peaceful man
He said that’s all right, just feed it when you can’
Take a load off b
Take a load for free…
And thanks again

thanks b for all you do and all virtual support if times are difficult

I too am a daily reader. I love this place and am grateful for any time you have to contribute to it. The internet is a wasteland without writers like you.
I send my best to you and hope for brighter days.
