It’s been a while since we were in touch, but i have a good friend who’s from Senegal, and working in its Asia diplomatic corps.
Ever since getting to know him, i’ve wanted to go to Senegal and live. I was just so impressed with him, and his fellow countrymen, and his coworkers, that i got on a real “Yah, Senegal!” trip for a while. After years of bumbling Ghanians, Congolese, Nigerians, Liberians, and Kenyans, they blew apart my impression of Black North/Central Africa, and gave me a new hope for the continent.
I’m looking forward to the time when i can spend a few years there.

I don’t know if anyone noticed but the cap and trade bill, which is as appropriate point to tax the economy as any, will not bring in any tax revenue.
This is to be a wholly financial instrument all for the benefit of Goldman Sachs. Matt Taibbi hints at it, but my local reporter–the guy with the 5 hour AM radio car commercial that offers more news than the whole of Cable and Satellite, Ed Wallace was livid.
I don’t know the particulars, where he got them, I wasn’t able to listen as closely as I would’ve liked.
