I hardly know what really happens in Greece right now, but I feel like the decision of [C/K]aramanlis to SHUT THE PARLIAMENT DOWN is a serious threat to the concept of european democracy if all other european countries accept that/let it slide for the sake of coming european elections…

it’s also something that (maybe) basically made ZERO headlines in news agencies outside Greece, as google hardly returns anything related to this, instead linking to month-olds events/protests/strikes when you try to get news (in english at least…)
apologies if it was already linked , I just quick checked , but there’s just too much to read on MoA 🙂

This AP piece really has me bummed out:

The poll data from a survey of 742 U.S. adults released April 29 by the Pew Forum on Religion and Public Life found 62 percent of white evangelical Protestants said torture of a suspected terrorist could be often or sometimes justified to obtain important information.

It seems to many US ‘Christians” that part of “lover your neighbor” is torture. Given what segment of the population the politicos pander to, it’s no surprise that Obama wants to hush up the torture business.
Onward Christian Soldiers…
