Comment or perish … another open threat …
Comments
Open threat? I guess I’d better comment since I don’t want to perish. It’s really excellent watching the rest of the world catch up with the news we have been receiving here on a regular basis. I probably couldn’t conceive what the news would look like if I hadn’t remembered the name of this site. All these insightful posts and valuable links; you all make me feel more intelligent than I probably am. Posted by: Jim T. | Nov 26 2008 21:03 utc | 1

I guess the big Wall Street bailout didn’t “trickle down” so much as “piss down their backs”. Posted by: Yellow Tiber | Nov 27 2008 1:26 utc | 7 Apparently, the Deccan Mujahideen are claiming responsibility. All I could find about “Deccan” is that it’s a plateau in southern India. There’s also 25 million muslims in southern India. What’s the connection? Muslim- Indian independence movement? New terror cell? Posted by: Vander | Nov 27 2008 1:55 utc | 8 President-Elect Obama strongly condemns today’s terrorist attacks in Mumbai, and his thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families, and the people of India. These coordinated attacks on innocent civilians demonstrate the grave and urgent threat of terrorism. The United States must continue to strengthen our partnerships with India and nations around the world to root out and destroy terrorist networks. We stand with the people of India, whose democracy will prove far more resilient than the hateful ideology that led to these attacks. New terror cell? @3, 4, &5: thank you.

Posted by: anna missed | Nov 27 2008 6:22 utc | 18 @breal but of course that was why the Somalian Coastguard boarded the boat in the firstplace. I didn’t put it together but if you remember one of the original interviews with the putative pirates, the leader said that patrolling to stop illegal fishing was one of their main tasks.
