(bigger)

beq adds music by Kodo, especially song no. 9 from the Mondo Head album: Echo Bells.

Somehow the download doesn’t work for me (maybe it is geographically limited?), but there are some Mondo Head tracks available at the producers website.

beq your art is so rich and vivid and evocative… I love it when I open the site and see a new painting you’ve so kindly shared with us. I wonder how large this piece is in “real life” — somehow I imagine it being pretty big and overpowering!
Not too long ago I say the new Ang Lee movie Lust, Caution — somehow this reminds me of it. Have you seen that movie? it is excellent.
Thanks again beq.

For some reason, between the title of the piece, the accompanying suggested music, –which I was able to sample here for those whom also can’t access the link provided– combined with annie’s comment reminded me of Deena Metzger’s, ‘The Woman Who Slept with Men to Take the War out of Them’ which we read for a class a few years ago. Maybe it’s the missing breast or eye in the painting that piqued that train of thought.
Which inturn, also reminded me of Clarissa Pinkola Estés work in, “The Boy Who Married An Eagle: Myths and Stories About Men’s Interior Lives” and other magnificent work by her. Little personal mote, Clarissa’s work is powerful and soul healing I have listened to and read much of her work and it is very much worth checking out.
None the less, very moving work beq!

Do not lose heart. We were made for these times.

Thanks annie, bea, and Uncle, and of course, Bernhard.
There’s not much I can add to the moon and I take so much away from the rest of you. It thrills me that you like my art.
The piece is just 20″ square. If it seems larger, I guess that’s good? The medium is pastel and sumi ink. I forgot to add this.
The cd isn’t a new one but it’s new to me and I thought the track fit somehow. Thanks for the link Uncle.
I will definitely follow up on all of the links.
