Doubts on Colbert’s Position Towards UFOs

Stephen Colbert prepares to file as a candidate for the South Carolina primary today.

I welcome this. He brings seriousness into the race and, as he wins, back into the White House.

But I am unsure of his position on UFOs. Does he understand people’s concern about the issue? Will he take a firm stand?

I would have bet hard cash, that the gaggle of bobblehed idjits known as the American TV press corp would never be able to excede the inanity of discussing Hillary’s cleavage, Edward’s hair do, Thompson’s manly smell of leather and cigar — damn glad I kept my mouth shut.

I don’t care if Dennis sees little green men behind every tree, he’s saner than anyone else in Washington.
The press never fails to exhibit their lack of integrity. Shame on Brian Williams.

Hell, Nancy Reagan had an astrologist, and Ronnie, saw not one, but two ufo’s
Of all the U.S. Presidents, Reagan more than any other President, appeared to be obsessed with the flying saucer topic. Billy Cox, a feature writer with Florida Today, wrote a major story in Florida Today about Reagan. The article looked at a series of alien invasion remarks that had appeared in a number of Reagan’s speeches. Cox described the situation as “Ronald Reagan’s abiding fascination with extraterrestrials.”

Ronald Reagan – Threat of Aliens among us

Both Presidents Jimmy Carter (Democrat) and Ronald Reagan (Republican) have made similar public claims about having seen UFOs, but Russert seemed fairly intent on torpedoing Dennis as if this were unheard of. Where is the laugh track when an elected official begins talking about how Jesus told them to declare a war?
Some people are talking as if this is the kiss of death for Kucinich’s bid. If he were wise, he would take a leaf from the opponent’s book and co-opt the message, making his detractors into the laughingstocks. Doubt it will happen, but it could be done.

Kucinich was obviously feeling the heat from Colbert’s candidacy and felt like he had to say something to shore up the base.

probably will help establish dennis w/ more of the regular folk in the country. then we’ll have some candidate boasting of his belief in angels, which may well seal the election.

check your link uncle
i guess this was the set up for everyone to be laughing about the debate.
whatever will they think of next.

Well, over half of americans believe in space aliens, and half of those believe the aliens live among us here on earth. (rapt?) I wondered what Kucinich would say when the Shirley UFO assertion went public. And it looks like he’s going to (remain neutral, but) let the story run on its own legs, simply by saying it (the UFO) was “unidentified”. This should attract a whole bunch of voters that normally would not have been interested in him – seeing that he already has all the smart people on his side – why not use the media to draw in that un-represented UFO believing half of the population. Its not like he would ever have to prove they actually exist. Like what Monolycus said.

pheonix 1997. this youtube is the governor on cnn report.
anybody remember this?? i was living in arizona at the time and it was all over the news because unlike other UFO sightings it passed over the center of the city. thousands saw it. “larger than a football field, and silent”.
i saw something very bizarre in the sky once, close and clear. i didn’t call it in or anything. maybe someone could have identified it, but not i. it moved in a completely unorthodox way.
the government knows something that’s for sure.
i think we have 2 options. either we have to accept they are government spacecrafts, or not from the planet. i don’t think we can keep chalking this up to crazy people seeing things that aren’t there.

Second try, ray gun’s UFO’s.

In my view, much more significent than the UFO stuff, I have seen lots of things flying I couldn’t identify (spaghetti monsters?), is the Colbert candidate attempt.
If he’d really run, it would expose the U.S. election as the predetermined media show that it is.

Colbert Won’t Appear on SC Ballot
When asked about the opinion, professional killjoy and member of the executive council, Waring Howe, bloviated mindlessly, “He’s really trying to use South Carolina Democrats as suckers so he can further a comedy routine.”

Posted by: Uncle $cam | Nov 1 2007 21:12 utc | 13

hell, i’d vote for him. i’d rather experience a parody of democracy than another mockery of it.

I’m still lurking in the shadows anna missed. Thanks for remembering.
