London-Glasgow Terror Similarities

The British officials are freaking out about the incidents in London and Glasgow, lifting the terror alert to the top level. According to the BBC they do believe the cars found in London and the car incident in Glasgow are connected because there are "similarities".

Chief Constable Willie Rae said: "There are clearly similarities, and we can confirm that [the Glasgow attack] is being treated as a terrorist incident."

Please consider:

  • In London two Mercedes were used.
  • In Glasgow a Jeep Cherokee was involved.

  • In London the cars were parked late at night.
  • The Glasgow the car was driving in the middle of the afternoon.
  • In London the drivers walked away and vanished.
  • In Glasgow the driver and a passenger jumped out in panic, one of them on fire, when the burning car hit the building. Both are accounted for.
  • In London petrol (gas), propane canisters and an unspecified amount of nails have been found inside the cars.
  • In Glasgow no such stuff was found inside the car.
  • In London the two cars were parked along the route of yesterdays gay pride parade.
  • In Glasgow the car ran onto (not into) an airport building.
  • In London the cars did not burn.
  • In Glasgow the car did burn underneath while still driving and before it hit the building.
  • There is a history of nail bomb attacks on gays in London.
  • There is no history of burning cars hitting an airport building in Glasgow.
  • The Mercedes types found in London were never factory recalled for carrying nails or propane.
  • Various Jeep Cherokee types, similar to the one on fire in Glasgow, have been subject of recall campaigns because of possible vehicle fires (NHTSA Campaign ID number: 02V104000, 00V195000, 02V104000, 01V348000, 01V374000, 02V032000, 02V104000 plus a 07/2006 recall for seat heating fires).
  • In London the police does not say how much propane and what amount of nails were found in the cars and it does not provide any account of a possible bomb trigger nor CCTV pictures of the car drivers.
  • In Glasgow the police is very vague about the identity of the people inside the car.

Because of all these above "similarities", we agree that there must be a connection between Glasgow and London.

The most likely one though being the intent of police commissioners and their bosses to reinforce fear of terror within the British people.

What I really wonder about though is the yet unreported connection of the London-Glasgow terror events to Iran’s hidden Imam nuke program …

Comments

I don’t see this attempt at linking the attacs so much as an attempt to perpetrate a reign of terror as the result of panicky officials trying to cover their asses.

Two remarkable things happened in the last two days within half a mile of each other, at either end of Piccadilly. One, the car bomb, you have probably heard of. The second you probably haven’t.
“Mossad Spy” Found Dead

An Egyptian financier accused of spying for Israel has been found dead outside his London home in mysterious circumstances. Ashraf Marwan was alleged to have worked for Israeli intelligence agency Mossad during the 1973 Yom Kippur war with Egypt and Syria. He was accused of tipping Israel off about the war. Police said “He appears to have fallen from a balcony. The death is being treated as unexplained.” The 62 year old son-in-law of former Egyptian president Gamal Abdel Nasser was found on Wednesday in St James’s, Central London.

Well, as Craig Murray rightly points out ;
If one thing is gonna keep the death of such a “connected” guy out of the news, its the calor gas bombers.

Bernhard, I noticed another similarity: The cars in both instances were green. Green is a color commonly associated with Islam. For example, the Hamas flag is green. Could be meant to subliminally suggest that these are Islamically motivated incidents, although they are not. Or could mean that they ARE Islamically motivated events. Or could be complete random coincidence. But it did stand out to me.
Also, I thought I read that the men in the car in the Glasgow incident were Asians? Or was that just a random report that I saw?

Who gives a fuck anyway. A few more or less english could never atone for USuk crimes but if they are connected these bombs that actually did go off are as good a reason as any:
Up to 80 civilians butchered in Afghanistan Friday by USUK murderers
The Observer

Air strikes in the British-controlled Helmand province of Afghanistan may have killed civilians, coalition troops said yesterday as local people claimed that between 50 and 80 people, many of them women and children, had died.
In the latest of a series of attacks causing significant civilian casualties in recent weeks, more than 200 were killed by coalition troops in Afghanistan in June, far more than are believed to have been killed by Taliban militants.
The bombardment, which witnesses said lasted up to three hours, in the Gereshk district late on Friday followed an attempted ambush by the Taliban on a joint US-Afghan military convoy. According to Mohammad Hussein, the provincial police chief, the militants fled into a nearby village for cover. Planes then targeted the village of Hyderabad. Mohammad Khan, a resident of the village, said seven members of his family, including his brother and five of his brother’s children, were killed.
‘I brought three of my wounded relatives to Gereshk hospital for treatment,’ he told the Associated Press news agency by phone. The villagers were yesterday burying a ‘lot of dead bodies’, Khan said.
He spoke as American forces in Iraq also found themselves heavily criticised over civilian deaths when eight people died, apparently caught in crossfire from a gunfight between insurgents and soldiers in Baghdad’s Sadr City yesterday. But residents, police and hospital officials said eight civilians were killed in their homes and angrily accused US forces of firing blindly on innocent people. Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki condemned the raids and demanded an explanation for the assault on a district where he has barred American operations in the past.
In Afghanistan, the civilian deaths caused by US and Nato-led troops have infuriated local people and prompted President Hamid Karzai to publicly condemn foreign forces for careless ‘use of extreme force’ and for viewing Afghan lives as ‘cheap’. The increasingly fragile President has urged restraint and better co-ordination of military operations with the Afghan government, while also blaming the Taliban for using civilians as human shields.
Ban Ki-Moon, the United Nations Secretary-General, raised the issue of civilian casualties on a four-hour visit to Afghanistan on Friday on which he met the senior Nato commander there, the American General Dan McNeill.
Senior British soldiers have previously expressed concerns that McNeill, who took command of the 32,000 Nato troops in Afghanistan only recently, was ‘a fan’ of the massive use of air power to defeat insurgents and that his favoured tactics could be counter-productive.
‘Every civilian dead means five new Taliban,’ said one British officer who has recently returned from Helmand. ‘It’s a tough call when the enemy are hiding in villages, but you have to be very, very careful,’ he added.
The American general has been dubbed ‘Bomber McNeill’ by his critics.
But Nato has ‘never killed and will never intentionally kill innocent civilians’, its secretary-general, Jaap de Hoop Scheffer, told a conference in Macedonia on Friday. ‘The majority of civilian casualties in Afghanistan have been caused by Taliban suicide bombs and roadside bombs.’
US Air Force Major John Thomas said that, after a long skirmish and under constant fire from the Taliban, troops of Isaf (the International Security Assistance Force), called for close air force support during an operation in Helmand, where the Taliban have been resurgent this year.
‘All enemy positions were destroyed, but after friendly forces surveyed the area, there were reports of some possible civilian deaths,’ Thomas said.
‘The remains of some people who appeared to be civilians were found among enemy fighters in a trench line,’ he added. The level of violence has soared in Afghanistan, with more than 2,800 people – mostly Taliban fighters – killed in fighting this year, according to an Associated Press tally of figures issued in the last few days by Western military and Afghan officials.
A count by the United Nations and an umbrella organisation of Afghan and international aid groups shows the number of civilians killed by international forces was slightly greater than the number killed by insurgents in the first half of the year.
In Helmand’s Sangin district, Nato-led and Afghan troops clashed with Taliban fighters on Friday, leaving 15 of the militants dead, said Ezatullah Khan, a district chief. Helmand is the primary area of operations for the British troops deployed in Afghanistan.
There were no casualties among Nato and Afghan troops, the official said.
More than 3,000 British troops have been deployed in Helmand to combat both the Taliban and the drugs trade. Also in the south, two suspected Taliban members were killed while trying to place a homemade bomb on the side of a road in Zhari district of Kandahar province on Friday, said Ghulam Rasool, the district’s police chief.
Three children were also killed on Friday and another wounded when an old rocket they were playing with exploded in Zabul province in the south, said General Yaqoub Khan, the provincial police chief.

American butchers are killing as many people as possible while the english pricks pretend it is nothing to do with them USuk are gutless assholes.

Bea picked it up. They had said that the Glasgow men were ‘south Asians’ when the story first hit, and today they are trying to link this to Al-Qaeda bomb similarities ‘in Iraq and Bali.’ If the two men had been Arabs, it would be all over the headlines. But now the witch hunt has to be for Asians, also.

Posted by: Ensley | Jul 1 2007 13:22 utc | 9

First Malooga, and now debs. Perhaps there is a terrorist link……..

Posted by: Anonymous | Jul 1 2007 13:54 utc | 10

Also somewhere in some yahoo story today they had the two men in Glasgow running out of the burning jeep shouting “Allah! Allah!”
Subtle, eh?

“If the two men had been Arabs, it would be all over the headlines. But now the witch hunt has to be for Asians, also.”
In the UK, Asians = Indians/Bangladeshis/Pakistanis. Home-grown Muslim terrorists are almost invariably of Pakistani origin; hence ‘Asians’ are exactly who you’d expect to see perpetrating this kind of outrage.
The two incidents are almost certainly linked.

actually Bea, SkyNews had a man dressed up in a fireman’s suit saying the same thing this morning. Murdoch is all over this, the Australian papers are whipping themselves into a frenzy and SkyNews being part of NewsCorp is following the script faithfully. here is an image from Sky of one of the people involved with the Jeep incident.
I wonder if these guys will turn out to be Brazilian, like the poor bastard that got himself executed on the tube two years ago…

Stockwell passenger Mark Whitby told BBC News he had seen a man of Asian appearance shot five times by “plain-clothes police officers”.

“In London two Mercedes were used. In Glasgow a Jeep Cherokee was involved.”
Your point being, the vehicles were different so there couldn’t be a connection…? I really don’t understand your reasoning at all.
“Various Jeep Cherokee types, similar to the one on fire in Glasgow, have been subject of recall campaigns because of possible vehicle fires (NHTSA Campaign ID number: 02V104000, 00V195000, 02V104000, 01V348000, 01V374000, 02V032000, 02V104000 plus a 07/2006 recall for seat heating fires).”
I’m sorry, this is just laughable! One of the guys got out of the car, poured fuel over himself; burning from head to toe, he then attempted to attack police.
“In London the police does not say how much propane and what amount of nails were found in the cars and it does not provide any account of a possible bomb trigger nor CCTV pictures of the car drivers.”
No pictures have yet emerged presumably because the police are busy tracking the perps down (3 have been arrested today). A cellphone trigger has been found and identified as such.
“In London the two cars were parked along the route of yesterdays gay pride parade.”
*Near* the route, not *on* the route. The parade took place the following day. Since no parking is allowed in that part of London, the cars would have been towed (one actually was) LONG before the march took place. One would assume the bombers would know that.
Not to say that the Islamic extremists responsible would have minded hitting the Pride Parade – but it’s much more likely the bombs were intended to go off at the time the cars were dumped and their target was almost certainly the Tiger-Tiger nightclub. Thursday is ‘Ladies Night’; surveillance has already picked up extremists talking about clubs as a ‘prime target’ because they are full of ‘slags’ – Islamicists preferring their women barefoot, pregnant and burka’d; women out on the town, having a good time being anathema to them.
I repeat – the two attacks are 99.9% likely to be linked and to be Islamic in nature. There is a history of this – way more history than the single instance of the nail-bombing of gay bars.

Posted by: Maya | Jul 1 2007 15:39 utc | 14

it is absolutely of no importance whatsoever – they are either incompetents or intelligence operatives – which in our time amounts to the same thing

Posted by: r’giap | Jul 1 2007 15:47 utc | 15

Maya,
It certainly seems the two incidents were indeed linked, if attempted bombings, they were certainly planned by incompetent people, if terror-inciting, they certainly know the “hot buttons” of media and people like you.

Doesn’t sound as though Maya knows anything more about Britain than can be read on the internet. The people who have the record for bombing in UK are the Irish. Why not a renegade Irish group?
I myself repeat: as of the moment of writing, there is not the slightest evidence emerged that those responsable for the London car bombs are Islamic connected.
There is a big history in Britain of Muslims being arrested and put on trial with great publicity, and then the case is quietly dropped when it is realised that there’s no evidence. Innocent Muslims get shot by the police, and Brazilians.
I’ll agree though that the Glasgow affair is Pakistani Muslims; in any case the police have the culprits.
See the new PM, G. Brown, has even accused them of being al-Qaida!! I doubt he has any evidence.

“Doesn’t sound as though Maya knows anything more about Britain than can be read on the internet. The people who have the record for bombing in UK are the Irish. Why not a renegade Irish group?”
Maya is British and has lived here all her life.
A key element of the Irish campaigns was always to phone with warnings; the key reason for this was to *disrupt*. There have been no warnings for any of the recent campaigns.
Why would the Irish be bombing us *now*? The most recent bombing campaign in the UK – taking 52 lives – were the 7/7 bombs – Islamic terrorists.
“I doubt he has any evidence.”
Other than massive surveillance, infiltration of Al Qaida cells by security services, the fact that those arrested have all been of Pakisani origin…
And etc. etc. etc.

Whilst it’s certainly fair to assert that the core contingent amongst the UK Jihadi brigade is comprised of South Asian muslims of mostly Pakistani origin, it’s worth noting that Richard Reid was a convert of mixed Carribean-English heritage, at least two of those recently convicted with the gas limousines guy were converts of Anglo/European origin, Sajid Badat was a convert of Indian origin, Jermaine Lindsay was a convert of Jamaican origin, and the 21/7 bombers were all originally from the horn of Africa.
The IRA didn’t always give warnings – it depended on the nature of the target. No warnings for the Brighton bomb, the Deal bombing, the Chelsea barracks bombing, the Hyde Park bombing, the mortar attack on Downing Street, Guildford or Birmingham pub bombings, amongst others. That said, there hasn’t been any Irish-related terrorism in the UK since the 2001 car bombs at TV centre and in Ealing – and both came with warnings.
I’ve little doubt that the perpetrators of the current round of attempted attacks are violent islamists of UK origin, that there is some degree of linkage between events in Glasgow and London, that the key to the timing is the accession of Gordon Brown to the prime-ministership, and that the objective is – whether the attempts succeed or fail – to throw spanners in the works at a point of political transition.

I’m not disagreeing – the hysterical media excess is pointless, almost certainly counter-productive, and the vast majority of people here really ain’t that bothered.
At most the London incidents were news items as opposed to a huge media-fest, and the Glasgow incident is a news story that merits the same attention that a stabbing or similar violent public incident would garner.

Posted by: dan | Jul 1 2007 19:01 utc | 21

A key element of the Irish campaigns was always to phone with warnings; the key reason for this was to *disrupt*.
Are you Irish? Why are you trying to excuse them? There were lots dead. in spite of or because of the phone calls. and who says it’s all over? There are Irish madmen still on the go, about the same number as Pakistani madmen.
Other than massive surveillance, infiltration of Al Qaida cells by security services, the fact that those arrested have all been of Pakisani origin…
ridiculous, lots have been released for lack of evidence. very little has actually come out and been proven. Just a few mad amateurs. In spite, I agree, of a highly intense and costly surveillance operation, appeals by T. Blair for Muslims to turn in their neighbours. which has cost Britain a fortune. disruption of Heathrow airport for no reason. absolutely stupid security controls at the airports, destined to take any liquids off you, when it has been clearly shown that mixing liquids is highly unlikely to produce a viable bomb. I have missed flights at Heathrow because of that; think of all the business men whose trips are put in difficulty .
but I leave you to rave in peace; it’s a waste of time to argue.

I had a Jeep Cherokee when I was in East Africa, I bought it from a USAid worker who was going off to Gaza to build an airstrip (we know what happened to that) and my jeep (no kidding, I swear) went on fire on the main Dar es Salaam highway five days after I bought it. ($15,000 down the toilet).
It must have been Al Queda!!!

At the bookstore, I recently came across an article in Adbusters Magazine, about a new cultural group in Britain called the “Chav”. They seem to be a strange middle-class group, hanging out in shopping malls: bling-encrusted, well-dressed, materialistically-oriented white folk, who have the tendency to set upon, and beat up, people whose looks they don’t like. From the Adbusters piece it sounds like some kind of case of social unraveling or cultural devolution of the most distressing and anti-intellectual kind.
Maybe I’m barking up the wrong tree here; but it seems weird to have 2 Mercedes rigged up to explode, containing rather stupidly-fashioned fire bombs that are quite unlikely to work. On the news it was suggested that the target for the two Mercedes was the route of a gay pride march. Perhaps this points to another kind of hate crime.

Chav sounds like “A Clockwork Orange”
the strangest thing about all these “carbombs” is how effective damage control has been. the press has jumped right to the AQ connection and everyone is certain of that. what I have yet to see is any criticism whatsoever of the police or brit intelligence. Many draconian laws have been passed severely limiting the civil liberties of british citizens in the form of prevention of terrorism acts with the latest giving the police the authority to lock people up without charge for a month. still, no warning, no clue that either of these incidents were about to happen. all the cameras and all the wiretapping and all the infiltration of suspect groups and nobody had any knowledge…..
the incident at Glasglow is simply bizarre, if the intent was to kill who could be so stupid as to think driving a burning truck into the ticket area was a plan that could work?
there simply has to be more to this story and like the killing of the Brazilian electrician it will probably come out in a few weeks after everyone has been imprinted with the current story of terrorists and AQ, too late to make any difference.

And what is the media focusing on? Not the two American soldiers who died today in Iraq. Not the hundreds of Iraqis killed and wounded by real terrorist attacks. Nope. They are furiously hyping two cars that did not burn or explode and one car that, while on fire, crashed into a trash can. No one died, but several in the media are fanning the flames of fear. Osama Bin Laden does not need a press agent. Hell no. He can just squat on his rug in Pakistan and let CNN, MSNBC, and FOX blather on endlessly hyping the capabilities of Al Qaeda.
I am confident that British and Scottish authorities will fully investigate the yuppie terrorists. I am less confident that we will devote our energies to the task of actually killing or capturing Bin Laden. Our leaders and a pliant media seem content to talk endlessly about non-events and turn away from the bodies being piled up in Iraq. And for those of you who soiled yourselves over the events in the U.K. it is time for a nappy change.

They aren’t just any doctors, at least one is an Iraqi, another from Jordan as well as the Indian doctor arrested at the airport in Oz a few hours ago.
I doubt they were that determined to kill people, more like they wanted to make a statement. Lets face it this many doctors working in the public health system could have wreaked total havoc much more effectively without resorting to damp squib bombs. These guys wanted to scare the shit out of populations which have become increasingly complacent toward the butcher’s bill.
If that is the case they have succeeded as developed nations around the world have been stripping medicos outta the brown peoples’ lands for 50 years. Already here in NZ where 41% of doctors are overseas trained the health industry has been re-assuring the population that all our doctors are upstanding citizens.
This is a really interesting little story. One that it is going to be damned hard to get to the bottom of as the media will assist in burying the truth in sensationalism. The brits have been saying that the terrorist acts committed in the last few years are unrelated to their participation in the illegal invasion of Iraq but are just looney arabs wanting to destroy ‘freedoms’. That point just became a lot harder to argue.
I just hope these guys didn’t fall for the same line of bullshit that many in amerika did. that is that Brown’s foreign policy will be substantively different from the Bliar’s. It won’t be. Gordy isn’t in hock to the rabid zionist lobby the way the Bliar was but he does lack the will or the nous to navigate a different course through the ME.
This year’s (well northern hemisphere summer’s) major flashpoints are going to be Afghanistan where the Nato forces, are going to take a real hammering now the people realise that all the talk of building a better future was just more whitefella duplicity and if they want a better future they are going to have to build it themselves – after they chase the assholes who have been blowing the population to smithereens out on their asses.
Nato forces in Lebanon are in for a hammering too. Like Afghanistan they are travelling under a UN flag of convenience but are lead by a Nato command structure.
There are some beaut ironies there. In Lebanon the nato troops are being aided and assisted by the ‘enemy’ Hezbollah troops who have been providing maps of safe routes and patrolling on the look-out for IED’s being planted. The blokes doing the planting are assorted Sunni groups who claim links to the fictional Al Quaeda construct yet they are are funded outta the Pentagon by a shadowy group of assholes that want to stymie the rise and rise of Shia as a force in the ME. Now there’s a class struggle worthy of a Che Guevara. The Shia have ben oppressed by Sunni elitists for thousands of years. Instead of helping the poor fuckers and accessing ME reources by way of gratitude from freindly population, old whitey finds he has more in common with the Sunni ruling elite therefore lends a helping hand to the oppressors.
Anyway here’s the thing Gordy might have given Shrub the finger and cpulled out before the wad was shot in Basra – may still do so – the troops in southern Iraq don’t get up to much aside from avoiding getting shot or blown up – so maybe he will withdraw a tad. One thing he won’t do is he won’t upset the French, Germans and Spanish by getting the fuck outta Afghanistan or Lebanon.
If these theatrical attempts at committing a terrorist act were aimed at altering Gordy’s plans, which I doubt they were, they will fail.
If they were an attempt to get the population of one of the ME’s major imperialist aggressors to pay attention, they have succeeded admirably, although I do fear these young blokes are going to pay a very high price for their deeds.

Holocaust deniers, WMD, terror attacks – are CNN and Fox doing 24/7 coverage?
BNP men planned bombs for ‘race war’

Two British National party members plotted to make bombs in readiness for a “civil war between races”, a court was told yesterday.
A former candidate for the party stashed boxes of chemicals at his home after buying them online at the instruction of a local dentist and fellow BNP member, jurors at Manchester crown court heard.
However, the hoard amassed by Robert Cottage, 49, of Colne, Lancashire, came to light when his wife told her social worker she was scared that Cottage and 62-year-old David Jackson were planning to test chemical weapons in the local countryside.

Alarm bells began to ring when Cottage led her to understand that the chemicals were intended to harm the government or anyone who came unannounced to their home.
“Our relationship before the BNP, it was brilliant,” she said. However, she added that Cottage had become “really radical” and their marriage was ruined.
“He thinks there’s a war going to happen with the culture, the Asian culture and the white culture and that Tony Blair and President Bush are scheming against people,” she said.
Ms Cottage added that her husband and Jackson were “solid” friends who met regularly to chat about politics, the BNP and Hitler.
Police found guides to making bombs at the Cottages’ home, along with ball-bearing BB guns, gas masks, body armour and stab-proof vests.
