Thank you annie and Juannie.
I’m breathless at the moment too. We just returned from d.c. What an amazing day. We rocked the pentagon. Thousands and thousands of people came from everywhere in spite of the snow just to the north. I’ve been to some demonstrations in my day but nothing quite like this. We met up with busloads from all over Virginia to march together and assembled a couple of blocks down Constitution Ave. from the point where the march began and unknowingly fetched up next to where the pro-war goons all were. As we began our march to the starting point the police allowed them to line up on either side of us so we ran a gauntlet (at a slow march pace) for about two blocks. They chanted USA! so I beat my bucket drum and yelled the same. WTF? It’s our country too and we evidently care more about it than they do. Oh the parade was lead (though I never saw the beginning) by (I heard) about a thousand war vets and soldiers.
fuck bush.

beq,
you are one provocative envelope-pushing dude . As much as I like it, I think 50 years ago, you just earned yourself a new crib in a new town.
sincerity of contact is real, Whether it leads to love, friendship or just plain goodwill, its real across border, creed, race, religion or whatever. Even when it goes against instituitional prescription, its stiil real.

nice, beq. and thanks for giving voice to the thoughts, feelings, concerns many of us have – both in your painting and your activism.

Posted by: conchita | Mar 18 2007 2:24 utc | 11

cool is what i’ll say too. love the colors, as usual!

Posted by: b real | Mar 18 2007 4:38 utc | 12

ahhh! …sometimes life is good.
Like conchita says, thanks beq for your soulful art and your activism. It was another full work day for me … your posts and your stirring creation are the best wake-up yet for me to get priorities in perspective – lately have little time/energy for seduction or activism …sigh…

the pubic hair is reminiscent of the tree painted on the side of a building near the flea market in the Tiergartern.

proud to know you beq.

i thought the pubic hair resembled closely that of old khalid-who-confesses-to everything-while-under-the-masterly-interrogation-of-imbeciles
tho, it is as usual – something delightful from my little japanese
tho today i am as far removed from erotic impulses as karl rove is from truthful ones

@ Badger (#19) My “translator” said: ‘special forces’.
πŸ™‚ I could be wrong.
And again, many thanks.

i’m proud to know you too beq. wish i could have been in dc w/you.
special forces πŸ™‚
i must admit, the pubic hairs i noticed first before anything else. my eyes zeroed right in. at a total loss w/the ability to describe why tho.
this could be your best i’ve seen.

Posted by: annie | Mar 18 2007 21:19 utc | 23

annie, to have you there with us in d.c. would have been the icing on the cake.

I am not much a commentator of art, but it is cool.
Heard about the D.C. march and wondered about if I knew anyone there. Apparently I did. Cool.
Turns out there was marches in Sweden too, but nobody told me so I missed it. Ah, well, guess there will be more chances. Sadly.

annie @ 23 –
Did you also notice the pubic hair of the person behind the female? Took me a while.

Posted by: Hamburger | Mar 19 2007 15:02 utc | 26

Seduction–from behind, not before…. More a matter of touching than seeing (or of eye-contact), perhaps? Still less a matter of hearing….
