Unfortunately that is how propaganda works. Endlessly repeat the same lie.
I want to know why opposition to this miserable process seems to have ended when the Democrats ‘took control’ of the House and Senate. Nothing seems to have changed.

That’s one of the big problems of living in the so-called “Information Age”. Information is reality, and when “reality” becomes inconvenient, you merely tweak the information. It’s hard to call anything a “lie” anymore. If you leak enough questionable sources to support the “reality” you want to manufacture, they begin replicating one another. Suddenly, voilà, Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia.
And what “lies” did Bernhard point to? There’s not enough solid information there to call anyone on anything. It’s just an amorphous mess with enough deniability built right into it to keep anyone from seriously refuting it… until it replicates again.

“Be very afraid,” indeed…
Neocons Revive Cold War Group

A bipartisan group of 41 mainly neoconservative foreign-policy hawks has launched the third Committee on the Present Danger (CPD) whose previous two incarnations mobilized public support for rolling back Soviet-led communism but whose new enemy will be “global terrorism.”

‘NY Post’: Those Who Oppose ‘Surge’ in Congress Are Guilty of ‘Treason’

“TREASON” screamed the front page of the New York Post today, in reaction to Friday’s vote in the House of Representatives which easily passed a nonbinding resolution opposing President Bush’s troop surge in Iraq.

U.S. Congressman calls for war critics to be hung

Rep. Don Young on Thursday added his voice to the speechifying about President Bush’s Iraq policy and bolstered it with what he thought was the voice of President Abraham Lincoln.

@Uncle – that PCD link is so 2004

AFP joins the NYT. This is typical “mighty wurlitzer”. The NYT cites anonymous officials. The AFP cites on anonymous official plus the NYT. Next – your neighborhood paper cites the resident anonymous street bum and the AFP and the NYT to reinforce the message.

My name is Jesselyn Radack and I am the former Justice Department ethics attorney and whistleblower in the case of “American Taliban” John Walker Lindh. In today’s issue of The National Law Journal (Feb. 19, 2007), I have an Op-Ed entitled “Targeting Lawyers” on what it really looks like when the government tries to control attorneys acting on behalf of terrorism suspects and, if it cannot control them, punish them. I speak from personal experience in being blacklisted by this Administration. Terrorizing Lawyers

Was Osama Bin Laden responsible for 9/11?

Is the famous “confession video” genuine? Despite Bush’s insistence that the tape is authentic, America’s top academic Bin Laden expert has finally gone on the record, joining numerous other experts. “It’s bogus,” says Professor Bruce Lawrence, head of Duke University’s Religious Studies program.

Why has the Bush Administration been lying for more than five years by telling us that this preposterously bad hoax is a genuine “confession video”? Lawrence,
citing informants in the US intelligence apparatus’s Bin Laden units, said they all know the tape is fake, adding that the hoax has been kept alive because it is politically useful to those who wish to deflect attention from “conspiracy theories” about 9/11.
