Oh my. I thought this was going to be, um, private. So it’s not. So I’ll explain.
A new gallery was opening and a quick call went out to submit work for a “universe” show. Anything submitted would be shown but it had to do with the universe. Well, how could I resist?

It’s kanji, which means Chinese characters which have been borrowed and used in Japanese.
The two characters mean “full moon”.

beq,
are you sure you didn’t make this to commemorate Bush’s verbal full moon?

Posted by: citizen | Jan 14 2007 16:23 utc | 15

a little OT, but i like the texture on the surface beq, it’s different than your usual style and adds a new dimension of curiosity, although curiosity is inherent in most of your work that we’ve seem.
at first the cresent moon appeared as a patch to me, now i see it as the view from a window. naturally i think it represents a nod to us, as how could you paint a moon without thinking of us? impossible.
bea’s right, you are mooning us!

Posted by: annie | Jan 14 2007 17:08 utc | 16

or maybe its us (the moon in the window) mooning the outside world.

@ citizen (#15)
Bush knows all about full moons, verbal and otherwise. b and I actually encountered him wandering around the flea market in Berlin last Saturday, bumping into things and cursing at small children.
Once an ass, always an ass.
b?
