Looks like Democrats are just cheaper …

.. so if the market worked like it says it does, the market’d buy the Democrats.

The correction just takes a little longer than with your average hedge fund – especially given that Corporate America is still susceptible to a last minute bit of Rovian deflector spin.

So true: All this talk about “markets” is such a con.

You should go do that right now, actually.
Exhorting the Demoplicans to take more money to counter the Republicrat graft is what terminally addicted “sports fans” do as “the clock winds down”.
It certainly does seem that the Demoplicans are so hopelessly corrupt that they cannot become more so, but “it can always get worse” as Billmon himself has reminded us on several occasions.
The thing to do now is to start planning how we’re going to “off” the Demoplicans, Rahm Emanuel’s group especially, directly after the election, whether the Demoplicans win a majority or not.
I’ll be as happy as anyone to see the Republicrats turned out, the bigger the margin the better, but that “happiness”, relief really, will last about twenty seconds once the recognition that Clinton, Schumer, Biden and Pelosi are still in the government… and even deeper in debt to the same gang of criminals as the Republicrats they may, or may not, have supplanted.

@JFL
You took the words right out of my mouth..
Barkeep, buy that man a drink!
Snake Oil and the Midterm Elections

Of 22 Democratic candidates in tight races or running in open districts across the U.S., all but one was handpicked by the chair of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, Rep. Rahm Emanuel. Perhaps not surprisingly, all of his picks are ardently pro-war. But The Nation and the PDA don’t want you to know any of that. Instead they’d rather see antiwarriors cramped inside the cage of the liberal establishment. Nothing could be more damaging to social movements or our hope for real change in U.S. foreign policy.

Think about it: when was the last time you truly believed that a candidate from either party for any national office truly represented you, your dreams, your hopes for this country and the world?
If you answer that question rationally and honestly, it’s probably been some time ago.
Both the Democrats and Republicans are terrified that the American people will wake up some day, and realize that these party members generally only represent those interests which have acquired them, be they corporations, unions, or – in some cases – foreign governments.
It’s high time the American people woke up, and decide that neither party truly represents their interests, then figure out what to do about it.

I dunno about in the US, but in Australia, the Greens do not accept ANY corporate money. And still manage to pull 10% of the vote at times.

Bill Moyers for President?
Why not? Do I think he has a shot in hell? No. But he damn sure would bring a balanced , mindful, intelligence to the Kabuki shit show we have had the last few decades…

(sigh) gotta love them US progressive guys. all liberally and tolerantly in favour of gay marriage (or at least not opposed to it), all liberally and tolerantly outraged by theocratic gaybashing — but when they need an snappy epithet to insult a lot of election-fixing plutocrats that they really, really, really hate, what do they reach for? cocksuckers.
apparently it’s not only god who hates shrimp… and I ain’t even going near the rococo gender-anxiety knotwork of that earlier ‘Coultergeist’ post. our friend seems to be doing some one, er, fingered typing these days 🙂

I got your winners right here!:
US stops audit of Iraq rebuilding

Washington lawmakers have reacted with shock at the discovery that an obscure clause in a military spending bill will terminate the work of the auditor.

There are just no words left….
