These guys don’t lose jobs, they all move laterally. Like the revolving doors of power in the beltway and elsewhere, they have learned to turn their personal detriment (read debit)into personal credit at your expense
and then charge exrta fee’s for finding them out. Every criminal from Nixon (prolly before that)till today has found a way to fleese the system and thereby the people. It is a lateral crime syndicate, they push the envelope in all things and in all way and it only stops once someone goes to prison.
Finally, it isn’t merely the Repubs, it is the system. Both parties. How many of the Bush cabal have been moved to different and powerful positions after losing their seat in any one area? It’s a grand shell game and they work it.

the only reason lott had to step down was the PC/PR factor. he is entrenched and has all the little blackmail cards up his sleeve no doubt.
But Lott peeled off Alexander’s supporters in part by arguing that in a Senate split by one vote, dealmaking expertise could mean the difference between Republicans passing legislation to tout in the next campaign in 2008

I don’t have a TV and rarely see newspapers so the faces usually depict nothing to me. I actually did recognize Trent’s face but I would have had no idea who the other belong to. Yet the rest of the image easily fulfilled the 1000 words worth.
I was particularly happy I hadn’t just taken a sip of beer before I scrolled down to view the whole image.

Juannie
I think that is Strom Thurmond

Posted by: dan of steele | Nov 15 2006 21:27 utc | 5

yes indeed, that is Strom…
Lott made his infamous remark at Strom’s birthday party — and Strom was once a Dixiecrat, and always a bigot…

dan & crone,
thanks for completing my chuckle.

I, much like Juannie, do not watch the tube and do not recognize half of these nitwits, I thought it(the angel)was the pope…lol

Third time I wasn’t so lucky. I almost choked to death.

Senator Thurmond (or St. Strom to the folk on the redder and righter end of American politics) currently holds the record for the longest filibuster… 24 hours and 18 minutes of his life was spent ceaselessly yakking in 1957 in an attempt to defeat the Civil Rights Act. Catholic or not, that and two card tricks will get you canonised by the bigots. It would have put him at the right hand of Republican Jesus if he had been the one beating Senator Sumner as well.

Right now the rethugs could make Simon Legree or Billy Simmons minority leader and it wouldn’t cost them any votes.
The ‘citizens’ still supporting the rethugs are either diehard football fans who wouldn’t vote for the other team if their life depended on it or the asshole pragmatic right that regard Trent Lott as the last sane poltician in Amerika.
The rethugs are gonna play to their hard-core fans for a while which is bad news for anyone who imagined the dems were gonna pursue any humanistic policies.
With the rethugs bunched over in hard right looney-ville the dems will be charging across the centre and deep into the right to vacuum up any voter occupied space between them and the rethugs until they are cheek by jowl against the GOP once more.

Bay Buchanan is on CNN and she said that Pelosi’s decision to back Murtha was based upon emotion because he’s her friend…as if the last six years have not been a crony rape the treasury fest for Bush buddies?
THEN she said that the decision would make someone question her decision making process.
what a piece of worthless shit Bay Buchanan is.
I didn’t read the article, but I read a headline from Ann Coulter talking about the Pelosi house menstruating together.
Way to go, girls!
I hope they choke on their own bullshit.

ULCA police taser student in computer lab/library.
YouTube
Another student caught it on his cell phone. These assholes are torturing this person (who, oh yeah, has a “muslim-sounding” name) because, as he was leaving the library, he did not produce I.D.
They told him to stand up after they tasered him, which, according to reports, causes temporary paralysis. They continue to taser him and then tell him to stand up. The screams are horrific.
When another student asked for the police officer’s badge numbers, the police threatened to taser that student, too.
fucking fascists.
