WB: Foxed Out

Billmon:

Murdoch may recognize that mindless Republicanism is burned so deeply into the Fox News DNA that the patient might not survive any kind of gene recombinant therapy. Still, it would be amusing — and consistent with my theories about corporate media homogenization — if Fox News tried creeping a little to the left after most TV news organizations have spent the past five or six years turning themselves into Fox Lite.

Billmon, if you think Murdoch could not turn FOX news into a neo-liberal stronghold in less than 12 months you have alot more respect for the integrity of the people that work at Fox than I ever would have suspected. They journalists/whores and not do what the big man says. And if you think that Murdoch lacks the will to tame his own creation then you don’t know Murdoch. Murdoch is conservative, but first and formost PRAGMATIC.
Murdoch and Blair saw what could be gained from working together, and they its worked for them.
If Murdoch tabloids could ally with the hated Labour, hitching Fox News to the Republican wing of the Democratic Party will be a piece of cake. You didn’t think Hillary was going to run for president alone, did you ?
