All joking aside, I love your work beq your are an excellent artist. This piece is exceptional. And quite provocative on a many deep levels. Who among us doesn’t dream of images of the eroctic. M. Scott Peck wrote, that “Sexuality & Spirituality are Kissing Cousins.” cut from the same cloth. He speaks of the french ‘little death’, climax, the distillation of experience, ego loss etc..
Your work (this work) is one of those that instantly jar us out of the mundane into a taz, the (Temporary Autonomous Zone), the profane. The sacred. These reactions of mundane to profane and even the obscene tend to scare people out of their collective trance. That is an artist’s job.
The Magic of Zen.

Tiny Showcase

“We began exploring a smaller medium where the artist could make some money on smaller pieces of artwork. The art enthusiast, on the other hand, gets to take home their piece of artwork for around the same price as a CD, book or record.”

Sorry to be spaming this thread, but for some reason the following resonated in my mind as I had also, the image of beq’s art in there too… Geez, imagine several so many different images in this pin head…lol
Uh, you wouldn’t want to be in there..lol bad neigbhorhood, yada yada…
Zero 7 – Distractions
Zero 7’s ability to conjure beautiful lullabies with all the romance of 1960s French pop (as found on their debut LP, Simple Things) would have made them the toast of soundtrack composers and chill-out connoisseurs the world over. Unfortunately, two Frenchmen beat Henry Binns and Sam Hardaker to the title of “masters of comedown cool,” leaving the London duo to be forever called “the British Air.” And this is fair; the similarities between Zero 7’s lush cinematic soundscapes and those of Air’s Moon Safari and the Virgin Suicides score are so strong as to sound almost intentional. Nonetheless, their debut is a truly gorgeous album.

Fancy a big house
Some kids and a horse
I can not quite, but nearly
Guarantee, a divorce
I think that I love you
I think that I do
So go on mister, make Miss me Mrs you.
I love you, I love you, I love you, I do
I only make jokes to distract myself
From the truth, from the truth.
Fancy a fast car
A bag full of loot
I can nearly guarantee
You’ll end up with the boot
I love you, I love you, I love you , I do
I only make jokes to distract myself
From the truth, from the truth.
I love you, I love you, I love you , I do
I only make jokes to distract myself
From the truth, from the truth.

p.s. I was reluctant to post this as I feel threads like these deserve a a modicum of respect, and it would be like the equivalent of farting in church, embarrassing, awkward, and nobody really knows what to say, but odds are, somebody will laugh. A pase blog etiquette. However, I enjoy eatting sacred cow, that’s why yall love me ;-p

booty-ful right foot

Posted by: jony_b_cool | Nov 26 2006 9:16 utc | 14

as usual beq, swell picture. these feet are made for more than walking.

Posted by: anna missed | Nov 26 2006 9:56 utc | 15

Uh, why does everyone go for the feet? You freaks have a foot fetish or somethin?…lol
Oh, lucy!
That is not what I was first drawn to at all..
At first glance, I liked the ideal of the tangle of bodies, the sensuous shot of the short-end but ornate placed legs rapped in the ‘abode of bliss’. Calves of delight, clasps of thighs, with crabb like grip. The Mound vulva/pubic bone pushing, needing, wanting…

Addendum:
Beq what are the characters denoting?
Nick Cave, in his ‘love songs’ lectures (pdf), writes (paraphasing), that access to imagination is access to the God/Goddess head. That imagination is God made flesh. Like a a liminocentric chain of cause and effect, a recursive set of Chinese boxes where the innermost box paradoxically contains the outermost.
That ultimately, things such as poetry, art, prose, damn fine music is the expression of the one. The circular journey back to ourselves; back to the womb. Our power, our essense, our true being… Now and forever, amen and a woman, praise…

Posted by: Uncle $cam | Nov 26 2006 10:44 utc | 17

love it!

I like the right foot, too. Both of them.

Thanks everyone for your interest. Uncle! Thanks for your “spam”, your comments and links! and your enthusiasm. It means more to me than you know. I’ll need citizen (or J.Jape) again for a translation. This one left me a few days after it was finished. I wrote the translation on the back for the buyer (who bought two!) and then it went out of my mind. Maybe something to do with an interlude? Not bridges anyway. 😉
Lol, Uncle @ #16. I think you’re ready to join the fauxreal, annie, conchita, and beq discussion group. It meets after hours at a private venue.
