WB: Time Zones

Billmon:

Does six months in Afghanistan equal one "Friedman," or does failure in a different country require a different name?

In this here flat world, Friedmans are infinitely extensible in a two dimensional space. A Friedman in Afghanistan carries the same weight as an Iraqi Friedman, and can be used interchangeably. Call it the commutative rule of Friedmans.
But, if you try to sum an Afghani Friedman with an Iraqi one, you get only half a Friedman. That’s known as the Rice-i-rani law; it’s a North Korean treat.

An infinitessimal.
So now you know those little things are useful after all! Aren’t you glad they made you study them?
