Moon of Alabama Brecht quote

WB: I Hate Pat Buchanan
Comments

Richard Perle on BBC Radio 4 this morning (4 Oct 06): “Rumsfeld hasn’t had a broad enough canvas to paint on.” In fact, he’s done really well (“excellently” according to Perle) given the magnitude of the constraints he’s been working under.
That is, poor ol’ Don has had his artistic bent stymied by those bastards who wouldn’t let him get creative in neighbouring Syria and Iran. What’s wrong with coloring outside the lines, ferchrissakes? Tthinking outside the box?
Geez, it’s all so unfair. What is a poor psychotic Rethug supposed to do in this miserable world?

When they do finally deliver Rummy to the ol’ Padded Cell, surely simple mercy will allow them to include lots of edible finger paint.
He’ll have the walls, ceiling and floor to paint on.
He can add some brown from his Depends, for those earthy tones.

Rumsfeld does Dylan:
Oh, the streets of Baghdad fill with rubble,
Insurgent footprints are everywhere.
You can almost think that you’re seein’ double
On a cold, dark night on lit by phosphorous flares.
Got to hurry on back to my hotel room,
Where I’ve got me a date with the Chief of Police.
He promised that he’d be right there with me
When I paint my masterpiece…

In his youth his own obsession was to practise a profession
And he dabbled with the palette and the paint
But the art he couldn’t master, so he went from paint to plaster
And today he calls himself a plaster saint
Is he good or evil fairy? All his pals have now grown wary
That is, those of them who didn’t rate the purge
And the scent will ever linger, how he gave his friends the finger
just to gratify and culminate an urge
Schickelgruber! Schickelgruber! Once the dew was on the rose
Where you’ll end up in the wind up, Schickelgruber, heaven knows
Ever ruthless, ever truthless, when the judgement day is due
Repercussions from the Russians, Schickelgruber, say we’re through
Ev’ry village that you pillage in revenge will turn on you!

Billmon: When are you publishing a book?

Whoo-boy… that sounds like a bad place to be if you were French.
But…, as Merlin observed in Excalibur: “It is the doom of men that they forget.”

According to the National Intelligence Estimate, leaked to The New York Times and partially declassified last week, our intel agencies believe the U.S. invasion of Iraq has so inflamed the Arab and Muslim world it has spawned terrorism.

Much like someone saying “You didn’t pay for that haircut, did you?”, I’m amazed that highly paid intelligence experts were sent forth, only to come to a conclusion that would be obvious to a high school history student. See this week’s This Modern World.
I certainly part ways with Pat Buchanan when it comes to Culture War issues. On foreign policy, though, I often find myself agreeing with him. For good or ill, Pat is the true No Spin Zone.

I have often wondered if brother Rumsfeld wasn’t into the Cilice, by which he prob paints with blood and shit from himself and his victims. Ever watch him walk?
Further, I suspect he, (rummy/redrum)the SCOTUS, –hell, the whole lot of them–, are covert Catholic Fanatics of the Opus Dei. An anti-christ sect of black mass purportions. Devotees and cult worshippers of the necrophile nazarene.
Finally, I further suspect rummy, is nothing but a shunt to deflect us away from a Lon Cheney.

Catlady, that is the most poetic violation of Godwin’s Law I have ever read.
Viva Bertholt! Would that he were living at this hour!
