We just need Fitzpatrick to indict Cheney.

Let’s not forget that Denny Hastert is third in the line of succession to the Presidency.

D.C. is leaking like a collander, national intelligence estimates, military analysis, and the e-mails from a certain congressman and his priest, I mean speaker, all point to an inside out meltdown. I wonder if the deciders’ goin to run for the button? Or if someone has taken it from him in the night.

And Jackass Number2 is a hit movie, exactly why? Duh.

It gets better and better: Foley and Scientology

b – #8 – amazing link. Wow! I’m speechless.
The news just keeps getting better and more astonishing.
Via a friend, I know quite a bit about the inside workings of this organization.

Evidently some factions in TPTB have decided that putting the Bush administration “out of business” for its last two years is a priority. That said, I expect that other, pro-administration, factions in TPTB will push back…..hard.
The perfect scenery for a “strategy of tension” to come into play? I don’t think an outbreak of school shootings is going to be enough to cover over the cracks though.

How I’m Feeling at the Moment
Just found out it’s a holiday here – weird …

I was tremendously nervous when the Foley story broke; it had the stink of a Karl Rove operation, a la Rathergate (yeah, I know: there’s no proof….). We’re well past that now, and it’s obvious that it’s just a grand fuckup, handled with the delicacy and elan one would expect from Denny Hastert. Has Karl lost his mojo? One can only hope.
And if Denny goes away, then third in line will be none other than Ted “Tubes” Stevens, followed by Condi. Either way, Jon Stewart wins.

Condi as President? Some time ago, as Stanford’s Provost, she tried (and failed) to fire a friend of mine. She failed because she thought the person being fired was a member of the staff (rather than the faculty), and followed the wrong procedures….

lest we forget, there was a page scandal some 23 years ago. some things never change.

Dan – TPTB?

Posted by: McGee | Oct 3 2006 16:43 utc | 15

TPTB = the powers that be
Foley. Will someone in the liberal press puhleeze follow the money?
What about the campaign funds Foley controlled? Who did he distribute them to and when?

Billmon, you’re a genius. Take a few months off. You deserve it.

How can you stop blogging right now? We’ve got the baddest porno now playing.

Posted by: ab initio | Oct 3 2006 20:52 utc | 18

I’ve given up blogging for right now. I’m just reading Billmon and Digby, and laughing madly at the sun.
