I will pick up that gauntlet. take this
Lawrence Welk was born in a town not far from my home a long time ago in the great state of North Dakota. I have seen the magic bubbles and the Andrews Sisters more times than I want to admit to.

Thank you r’giap for the pure pleasure.
And now for something – bluer

Posted by: citizen | Jul 9 2006 14:06 utc | 5

Dan: See your Lawrence Welk, and ha!

THE MASTER IS GETTING SOMEWHAT ANGRY!
THIS IS THE THIRD AND FINAL WARNING!
which bans both foo and ~foo. Unfortunately, it also bans usernames such as:
foofoo
moofoo
goofoo
anythingfoo
Actually, some think they can ban the MASTER, in other places. The above was the final warning to them.
Much work to do in other places today.
Serious work.
Have a good day.

dan of steel
friends as we are i have to tell you that lawrence welk & particularly the chicken dance are covered specifically under united nations conventions as cruel & unusual punishment
i understandthat certain american psychiatrists using their dsm iv – understood lawrence welk to be a condition unto himself – thus to be welked was to consider oneself a musician where no such talent existed & instead low screeches & growls are emitted – that call into being whether we are or he is a part of a human species
so i hop it is noted – that if you post another welk or anyone else does – even in my parlous state i will lead a punitive expedition to your homes – i know where you are because after a long long time i too can understand the site map – i have brigades of comrades who will stand in front of your houses & chalets & read from the german of heidegger, we shall read from the theory of surplus value inserbo croation, we shall read derrida in portugese & althusser in finnish
so be warned, comrade

or very careful – oh now I need a drink.

Posted by: citizen k | Jul 9 2006 14:19 utc | 9

seems as if we are divided between silliness and downright good music. this is my contribution to good stuff.

Posted by: dan of steele | Jul 9 2006 14:21 utc | 10

citizen k
after all this time we have reached a form of consensus over italian t v
& now you contiu in the tradition of dan of steel – with music that could easily see you before pertinent tribunals for crimes against humanity
i have already sent, at this moment a cadre or a sleeping cell into your territory wwho will recite kierkegaards ‘frear & trembling in the danish outside your living qurters until you unconditionally surrender
comme Sarkozy quest-ce qui est demandé en ce moment ? de la fermeté !

This one will cause your head to explode if you are a Martian.

Posted by: dan of steele | Jul 9 2006 14:39 utc | 12

dan
at this very moment a rapid respoinse team have been sent to your adress & they will red from knat until you too show the white flag

Posted by: r’giap | Jul 9 2006 14:45 utc | 13

R’Giap, don’t joke about things like Althusser in Finnish. This is exactly the kind of thing that would appeal to Finnish heavy metal bands. It does not take much imagination to visualize the smoke, the 5 guitarists dressed in chain mail, the cellists using chain saws, and the vocalist screaming something from Contradiction and Overdetermination.
It’s tragic that the madness of the big blog video battle has spread so far, but when I saw that video of Leonard Nimoy singing the ballad of Bilbo Baggins, I knew that there was no hope.

Posted by: citizen k | Jul 9 2006 14:51 utc | 14

Chris,
call off the red brigade, I surrender!
peace offering

Strange music that a bunch of monkeys make, when they hunt and peck at the keyboard.
But then, I never could type.
Day’s been really weird so far, and it ain’t noon here yet.

dan
the kantian rapid response team has been stopped in time & have been sent to the wherabouts of citizen k & they are specialists in the translation of philosophical works into bluegrass – i know the surrender of citizen k will be on my desk by the time france whops italy
& it is true citizen k i have released a nightmare & i too can see such finnish groups – called the ‘french massage’ perhaps rendering louis’s work lisible for those out on the plains. but of course i will wait for their album on ‘lenin & philosophy’

You are all so cruel. I hate dial-up. 😛

Posted by: conchita | Jul 9 2006 16:28 utc | 22

@conchita – that’s not me!

Looks like I have to change the attack angle. Some distinguished folks here deserve every 306 seconds of this.

Posted by: b | Jul 9 2006 16:41 utc | 23

I played it.
Sure sounded like Finnish to me.
Liked the sound.
Anyone know where I can find the lyrics in English?

Posted by: MysteriousM | Jul 9 2006 16:42 utc | 24

you are all too kind, too kind.

you are truly sinister
& after we whop italy’s ass
i’m coming with the althusserians
(but really a little humility as i think the italians will play very, very well)

Posted by: r’giap | Jul 9 2006 16:50 utc | 28

Man! The Kunstbar brings back memories of certain chemicals and types of fungi. Thanks annie.
and now, since b has opened another front on the attack on poor Mr R’Giap, I would like to pile on with this

Posted by: dan of steele | Jul 9 2006 17:00 utc | 29

That will repell any althusserians and the like.

Posted by: b | Jul 9 2006 17:33 utc | 30

b, i want you to know that last one literally froze my computer – couldn’t stop it, couldn’t close the window! yikes, i couldn’t escape – my own private torture session – all 360 seconds.

Posted by: conchita | Jul 9 2006 17:35 utc | 31

meant the second to last. didn’t let the very last even open. i’ve learned my lesson.

Posted by: conchita | Jul 9 2006 17:36 utc | 32
