It’s not like this information is not available to terrorists through other channels. It’s just that when it is conveniently packaged, it gets branded as “aiding and abetting”.

Ah they are not different then other “celebrities”… they can’t have private life…for that reason and for the reason that they are personally responsible for so many people being slaughtered around the globe they have a small army of bodyguards watching after them.
That’s life they opted for .

ralphie and vbo are of course right, but does the militant rightwingers need any real reason to intimidate the press? If they answer like this over nonsence how are they not going to respond at an actual attack and who dares commit such an act?

Yunno, one of the arguments for the Iraq War is “let’s fight them there so we don’t have to fight them there”. I guess we can just expand the concept to include Cheney’s and Rumsfeld’s new homes: we lure the terrorists there with detailed maps and have our special forces ambush them there at the gates.
After all, every dead terrorist at Dick and Donald’s doorstep is one less we will have to face on the streets of Omaha, Nebraska.
Just hope that no civilians get caught in the crossfire…

These right wing types are wannabees. The press, or anyone, no matter. They are latching onto the ambient memes.
Being agressive is good; being nasty is wonderful; hinting at killing children (or approving of it if the children are linked to terrorists) is cool. Really murdering might put you in the top league…
The Israelis just kidnapped the heads of an elected Gmvt. and theatened to kill them.
Putin has publicly come out with a kind of ‘contract’ -big rewards- on the lives of those who killed some Russkies in Iraq.
The US has for a long time now simply triumphantly bombed or killed (rather than arrested and tried) some they dislike. The killing of the Zark…just go in, kill the fucker. Terrarist supreme! No discussion!
Bounties are good too, impress the public. Guns ‘n stomping boots…grenades…helicopters..money… glory…bombs that turn people into bleeding dislocated puppets….money…power…
People are not immune to the actions of their glorified leaders, commanders and betters. They tend to emulate them. Or, refer to them -silently- as license for their own dark or murderous impulses.
Joe and Ally caint killl their disgusting neighbors yet. A few far off journalists and veiled but very upsetting and pointed threats (where do their children go to schoool??? Hoooo!!!!) serve as subsitutues, symbols of targets that can be attacked (after all, the TV says it is OK) …
…just as copies of designer dresses and clumsy blondined hairstyles may, it is hoped, propel a clumsy teen into some upper strata….

You are soooo right!
I left Serbia after I realized that people have changed in this exact way and when I found out that my country will need a lot of time to even change back where we were before…
I was not afraid that they can influence me but they certainly started to influence my children.

Noisette,
Sad but true. People will emulate leaders. That is why impeachment is so necessary for Bush. A war crimes trial for him and many in the administration would help clear the air too.
