Their own wishful thinking about the consequences of their own pathetic follies appears to have left them with some wholly fantastical ideas about what motivates their enemies in the region. Either that, or they’ve completely bought the sugar coated lies being spoon fed them by their subordinates. My guess is that it’s probably a bit of both — creating a perfect, impenetrable feedback loop of flattery, deception and wish fulfillment.

Bits of that tape have been screening at the southern end of the planet for 12 hours or so and it really looks like shrub knows the mike is on and has the Bliar performing. The penny drops for the Bliar when shrub says “We are not blaming the Lebanese government.”

As Potemkin as everything else this administration has done, it baffles me that anyone truly believes for an instant that this exchange was either candid or accidental. For Christ’s sake, is there no limit to how deeply people will accept a reality based on nothing more than their desire to believe that “people just wouldn’t do things like this”…????

If it were real which it isn’t this bit which almost got me believing, that is said right at the start is intriguing:
