WB: The Wish is Father to the Deed

Billmon:

Their own wishful thinking about the consequences of their own pathetic follies appears to have left them with some wholly fantastical ideas about what motivates their enemies in the region. Either that, or they’ve completely bought the sugar coated lies being spoon fed them by their subordinates. My guess is that it’s probably a bit of both — creating a perfect, impenetrable feedback loop of flattery, deception and wish fulfillment.

Bits of that tape have been screening at the southern end of the planet for 12 hours or so and it really looks like shrub knows the mike is on and has the Bliar performing. The penny drops for the Bliar when shrub says “We are not blaming the Lebanese government.”

I tend to think Bush is a little bit more immoral than Billmon gives him credit for.

Everything they do is methodically, meant to provoke, incite inflame and instigate…
Just as the recent pig incident
Aesopian Language, communications that convey an innocent meaning to outsiders but hold a concealed meaning to informed members of a conspiracy or underground movement.
From top to bottom of the ladder, greed is aroused without knowing where to find ultimate foothold. Nothing can calm it, since its goal is far beyond all it can attain. Reality seems valueless by comparison with the dreams of fevered imaginations; reality is therefore abandoned.

As Potemkin as everything else this administration has done, it baffles me that anyone truly believes for an instant that this exchange was either candid or accidental. For Christ’s sake, is there no limit to how deeply people will accept a reality based on nothing more than their desire to believe that “people just wouldn’t do things like this”…????

I guarantee that a genuine Lonesome Rhodes moment would not have been this polite.

If it were real which it isn’t this bit which almost got me believing, that is said right at the start is intriguing:
“Bush: Yo Blair How are you doing?
Blair: I’m just…
Bush: You’re leaving?
Blair: No, no, no not yet. On this trade thingy…[inaudible]
Bush: yeah I told that to the man”

The man? Who the fuck is the man, shrub?
Aren’t you meant to be the man Honcho numero uno?
Who’s da man?
youse da man . . .georgie hehehehelolololol

Anyone with a brain can see it was Kos who ordered Hezbollah and Hamas to pick up arms.

The Killer B’s believe their own propaganda.
CNN, in an interesting aside, mentioned that US citizens evacuated out of Lebanon have to pay their fare to Cyprus. Welcome to the YOYO World (You’re On Your Own).
