WB: A Double Shot of Bourbon
Billmon:
Comments
The parallels between the Bourbons and the Bushs have been obvious for some time. Their reluctance to have their aristocracy help pay for the expenses of the government is another topic which Billmon doesn’t address in this particular comment but, I believe, has in other comments. Hell, relations between the new United States and France crashed after the Revolution as well, just as our relations with the new Iraqi government are tanking now and heading south in the future. The portents of the collapse of the French economy and its causes prompt one to consider where to seek a safe haven from the US economy. Perhaps Cheney administration officials would be happy to see the price of oil skyrocket and don’t really care about the [non-existent?]uranium except as the useful ruse it is. This type of behaviour is exactly the same old shit which cost Louie and Mary their melons.
