Moon of Alabama Brecht quote

Billmon:

If Fitz wants to go after Cheney, he needs something a little more down to earth — like obstruction of justice, conspiracy to obstruct justice, etc.

Whether Karl can give him these things is another story, one that has yet to be told. Like I said, this may all still be about getting Scooter (although Libby could also just be a rest stop on the road to Cheneyville). But if Fitz decides to let Rove off, or taps him lightly on the wrist, in order to get what he thinks he needs to prosecute the foulest son of a bitch to inhabit the vice president’s office since Spiro Agnew copped a plea, then all I can say is more power to him.

How does this fit in?

Mr. Fitzgerald is seeking to establish whether any crimes were committed with the disclosure of Mrs. Wilson’s identity, which first appeared in a column by Robert D. Novak — no relation to Ms. Novak — in July 2003. The identity of Mr. Novak’s original source for the column that triggered the entire case is still unknown, at least to the public. Mr. Novak has testified to the grand jury since Mr. Rove’s last appearance in October 2005.

Twas me above. Also, some may want to download and torrent the above before it’s gone. Paranoid? Damn right.
Genrals gather in their masses
Just like withces at black masses
Evil minds that plot destruction
Sorcerers of death’s construction
In the fields the bodies burning
As the war machine keeps turning
Death and hatred to mankind
Poisoning their brainwashed minds, oh lord yeah

Via Raw Story MSNBC reported:

MINUTES AFTER ROVE LEFT THE GRAND JURY, HIS LEGAL TEAM ISSUED A WRITTEN STATEMENT SAYING PROSECUTORS HAD, QUOTE, “WANTED TO EXPLORE A MATTER RAISED SINCE MR. ROVE’S LAST APPEARANCE IN OCTOBER 2005.”

That could be “a matter” resulting from the Novak testimony mentioned in comment 1.

@annie
It was about The Reactor in Dimona and Israeli nuclear whistleblower/political prisoner Mordechai Vanunu.
Snip:
Vanunu has unveiled a secret that have been literally kept underground for ages. The nuclear plant based in Dimona is probably one of the most highly secret and secured places in Israeli, and the public’s thirst for information takes our own channel 10 into a virtual tour throughout the plant, from the nuclear reactor thru the fuel rods whole process and later on to the great control panel which pictures were first leaked to the Sunday times by dear old spy Vaanunu.
Now the real question, is this video an original researched make of the info given by Vanunu, or is it yet another government spin in order to calm down the crowds from another event or investigation?
You can find out more in this recent Amy Goodman: Interview with Mordechai Vanunu

Karl has done his best, served his purpose. He may survive, or not, be convicted and then pardoned, or not. Fitz may be allowed to nab him, or not. Or decide to do so, or not.
Ultimately, it matters little: a certain turn-over is necessary to keep ‘the sheeples’ on board, quiet and working at their jobs and discussing trivia. Scape-goats must be designated, what happens to them after they leave the public scene (usually nothing) is of no interest.
US foreign policy is at a dead end.
