The Poison Pill Option

On what John Robb at Global Guerrillas would call 5th generation guerilla warfare, and what I would call "the poison pill option".
Either way, what is happening that differentiates the current situation in Iraq from the Maoist, and later Vietnam type of warfare, is that the insurgent forces have become so decentralized as a force that they have become incapacitated from asserting a coherent alternative governance.

Perhaps John Paul decided that given the court’s current composition, bringing Padilla up for a ruling on the merits was no longer such a good idea. Discretion can still be the better part of valour, and I can see the case for it here.

Random News Thoughts
Anybody here who wants to run FEMA? Looks like nobody serious is willing to take the job.
In endless hubris the top NYT editorial says Iraq is becoming a country that America should be ashamed to support, let alone occupy. Yes, there is reason to be ashamed, so lets blame Iraq.
In a disinformational piece
Dana Priest says Attacking Iran May Trigger Terrorism. Iran could hit back if attacked! Isn´t that enough reason for a pre-emptive strike? She manages to even hind at Al-Qaida connections to Hezbollah and from there to Iran. Sure, Sunni extremists Arabs just love Persian Shia.

Offer
Hmmm. I just checked MoonofA email. Sent yesterday, there was an offer from an "Assistant to Seth Lipsky" at "One SL, LLC." to buy all rights to MoA. I would stay posting for some, yet undefined, "decent compensation".
$10,000 as an opening offer is definitly undervalued for MoA, but openings are, of course, on the low side.
So how do I go about it?
(She/he/whoever sent that mail or maybe even "Master" Lipsky himself will read here, so please let me know otherwise).
