Bush’s trump card is that God moves in mysterious ways; just because the orders don’t appear to make sense doesn’t mean they weren’t given. But we could make a legitimate distinction here between "mysterious" and "self-evidently crackers". We cannot, as mortals, say that God definitely, positively did not speak to Bush. But we can infer that either God is mad or Bush is mad. It is more heartening and less heretical to believe the latter; though, of course, God being omnipotent, He did make Bush mad. So maybe they’re both mad …

What I dont get is how does bush (or anybody else, for that matter) knows its god doing the talking. After all it could be Lucifer, immitating gods voice, how can we be sure? It is fascinating that, in this case, that not only hearing voices, but acting on them with lethal force — it remains a taboo to question the source or authenticity of these voices. And its not like there is any consistancy with people reporting on what god has told them, is god telling pat robertson something different than george bush, or the pope , or some institutionalized clinical schizophrenic? Would, or do they ever compare notes? Its doubtful, because I think people see all this god talk stuff really, as an icon of commitment to shared belief. Somehow, its seen as a testament, a tacit admission of fanaticism that borders on the crazy just to the degree necessary to illustrate the level of belief desired — which in bushes case — to convince the fundies that he’s really one of them, in order for them to have belief in him. A perfect infant-ocratic circle, that not by happenstance, also finds harmonic resonance in its flip-side murdochian venal trash culture, where a similar maddness is perpetuated through the display of hysterical emotionalism and devious manipulation masqueraded as (perhaps the last vestage)of human authenticity (as pointed out so often and eloquently by r’giap). It is then a certain maddness, exemplified by hysterical self obsession and narcissim that is transmitted from that city on the hill down to all the sheeple as a reality fabricated, that is reinforced by mutually shared fear and agony — in proxie for the real human social(ist) bonds that have been shorn from experience, which, having been allowed to florish, would have cemented mutual experience into a cohesion whereby the aberrant would have remained aberrant — instead of the norm.

The last person whom told me god spoke to them, I replied, “they make meds for that.”
In the words of Tom Robbins, “…a book no more holds reality, than a clock holds time.” The truth is, We are all minotaurs, lost in the sealed
labyrinths of our brains.
The Bible tells us to be like God, and then on page after page it describes God as a mass murderer. This may be the single
most important key to the political behavior of Western Civilization

Who does God speak to? And does he speak through the medium of the CIA?

Also, some great audio programs about Phillip K. Dick on the website.

There is a school of thought among adherents of the Caballah that Yahweh is a lesser, demented god. (Phillip K. Dick leans heavily on this theme is several of his works).
Bush has caused me to start to adhere to this thesis.

This artwork is great, even if I think the premise of Bush hearing from God is more feasible than perhaps you would agree with me on.
