Leak Leak Investigation

The Cheney administration is giving us the late holiday gift of a leak investigation into the NSA wiretap reporting done by the New York Times and others.

The Justice Department has opened an investigation into the leak of classified information about President Bush’s secret domestic spying program, Justice officials said Friday.

This promisses us further delicous public disclosures about this and other NSA projects and their justification.

It will also emphazise the distinction between whistle blowers leaking bad deeds and anonymous sources selling the administration’s spin. So yes, bring it on!

Now who did the administration send out to present this good news to the public?

The officials, who requested anonymity because of the sensitivity of the probe, said the inquiry will focus on disclosures to The New York Times about warrantless surveillance conducted by the National Security Agency since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

Now where is the Senator who requests an investigation on these anonymous officials who just leaked the start of the investigation about the NSA spying leak. Oh the irony …

Just as with the Plame leak Gonzales will have to recuse himself from this case. He took part in the finding that legalized the illegal wiretaps. So now it is again time to name a decent special prosecuter.

Mr. Fitzgerald?

The Intelligence Summit ?
Welcome to the International Intelligence Summitsm, a non-partisan, non-profit, neutral forum that uses private charitable funds to bring together for the first time the intelligence agencies of the free world and the emerging democracies. The purpose of The Summit is to provide an opportunity for the international intelligence community to listen to and learn from each other, and to share ideas in the common war against terrorism. The Summit’s Advisory Council includes former Directors of CIA, Generals, a former senior officer of the Mossad, and the former Chair of British Joint Intelligence Committee.
The list of presenters at The Summit will include many of the top leaders of the intelligence, espionage, counter-terrorism and counter-intelligence agencies from around the free world. The Summit is intended to be the most prestigious world conference on international studies, intelligence policy, terrorism, and homeland security.
WHEN: Presidents’ Day Weekend, February 17-20, 2006
WHERE: Hyatt Regency Crystal City Hotel across the river from the Capitol, between the Pentagon and Reagan National Airport
WHAT: Because it is funded by a public charity, the Intelligence Summitsm must always remain a bipartisan non-profit educational forum where members of the international intelligence community will be able to meet each other on neutral ground. Delegates from every free nation and emerging democracy are invited to attend.
FACULTY: On the one hand, The Summit recruits active serving members of the intelligence community like Harold Rhode, from the Office of the Secretary of Defense, to serve as neutral moderators. The panelists, on the other hand, are usually recently retired senior officials: generals, agency heads, etc., who are a bit more free to speak their minds than serving officers. In some cases, panel members are authors, members of the media, or academic experts.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND: The audience is predominantly middle and senior level intelligence officers and business CEOs. There is also a strong core of senior academic and media leaders who wish to keep abreast of the latest in intelligence technology, as well as risk assessment. Particular emphasis is placed on inviting émigré groups from soon to be emerging democracies. Experts in regional/international studies, as well as law enforcement and terrorism specialists should find The Summit extremely valuable.
RESTRICTIONS: The press and public will be allowed to attend on a space available basis, subject to waiting lists on condition that all conversations at The Summit, whether inside the classrooms or outside in the hallways, are on a “not for attribution” basis. That is, the words may be quoted but neither the speaker nor his agency may be identified by name. Most sessions are intended to be unclassified, but special arrangements, some classified facilities such as transportation to a SCIF, can be made as the need arises. The general public will be restricted to the exhibit floor. Admission to the classrooms and discussion areas will be restricted by encrypted pass and security check prior to entering the floor of The Summit itself.
OUR HOSTS:
The International Intelligence Summitsm is a fully authorized program of IHEC. Founded in 1995, IHEC is a nationally recognized publicly supported charity for educational purposes. IHEC contributions are tax deductible under section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code(1). In addition to the Federal Tax deduction for charitable contributions, the State of Florida gives an additional 50% cash rebate to qualified IHEC donors(2).
Originally incorporated as the International Holocaust Education Center(3), after 9/11 IHEC rapidly expanded its educational mission from fighting racism to fighting terrorism, and is now known as the Intelligence and Homeland Security Education Center.
Because it is a private charity, IHEC can respond more rapidly and flexibly than most government agencies and has funded some of the most innovative programs in the war against terrorism. In 2002, IHEC funded a national research program using private investigators to obtain information on the financing of domestic terrorists. IHEC’s educational research has aided in the exposure and subsequent indictment of Professor Sami Al Arian, and other sensitive investigations, which are still ongoing.
In 2004-2005, IHEC funded many of the program expenses, including most of the international speakers’ travel, for INTELCON, the National Intelligence Convention and Exposition in Washington DC. However, INTELCON’s primary purpose was education for American intelligence agencies only, and excluded US counter-terrorism and homeland security. The Intelligence Summitsm will include all international and national intelligence, CI and CT entities.
OUR LEADERS:
Former Intelligence Officer & Federal Prosecutor John Loftus and his army of volunteers that made Intelcon’s program such a success will be joining with the key staff from the counter terrorism conference to take the Intelligence Summitsm to the next level.

I would like to leak. Can I leak? Everybody else is leaking. At least can I leak on a leaker? Or maybe just someone who’s leaking on a leaker? I really need to take a leak.
