No contradiction here. The seeds of freedom need fertilizer to grow into the plant (sic) of Democracy. We are merely supplying them with some much valued HumanLife soil in which to take deep, perhaps very deep, root. The compost of fee souls….

Be sure and read the whole article. It will quickly dispel any notions that there will be any resolution in Iraq short of genocide and sectarian war.

“There are two Iraqs; it’s something that we can no longer deny,” Ghilan said. “The army should execute the Sunnis in their neighborhoods so that all of them can see what happens, so that all of them learn their lesson.”
If you ask why it is the policy of the US to keep all Iraqi military forces under Coalition command and control, this is the answer.
I don’t think anyone doubts that there will be a bloodbath – just not in our kinder, gentler presence, thanks. It makes for very bad PR.

Some Presidents will say things like: It depends on what the meaning of the word “is” is.
It also depends on what the word ‘Democracy’ means to the president who uses the word.
In America the word Democracy has come to mean the freedom of the aural personhood of the corporation. We have allowed bottom liners to take over control of the government and ‘real person’ lives.
In Iraq it will mean nothing more than the Neocon take over of the land and it’s resourses and the enslavement of the people to consumer credit.
