Waiting For Fitzmas

The waiting gets boring. So let’s get a bit busy with some handicraft.

beq carved these beautiful Jailoween pumpkins.

All I Want For Fitzmas
by beq
(a really great desktop background:
1600×1200, 1280×1024, 1024×768)

fauxreal offers this haiku:

Neo-con worldview
Reality-free-based lies
Will burn their asses.

slothrop adds:

once there was watergate,
then monica, now miss plame.
too much justice fools

beq:

Lump of coal, you say?
endless sea of boiling oil
w in hell.

lonesomeG:

Neo-cons world view –
Freebased ideology –
Will burn their asses.

Rowan:

Lump of coal for us
for bush et al, the fittest
punishment to be

and also:

Cheney ham sandwich
surprisingly tasty – yum!
I give it B +

And of course there is Billmon’s Fitzmas Carol.

C’mon, add yours below.

There was a bold lawyer named Fitz
Who set out to bedevil the Shits
The crowds cheered him on –
The fight was near won
Suddenly, his aide hissed “He quits!”

that day, the skies were flat
the wind died down – no blow,
traffic lights switched, lonely automats
sentinels to nothing
was it a match, football perhaps?
Godot was away, we knew
lecturing about scattered oyster shells
“Something, something” no something else…
Apollo’s eye?
Tomorow is another day, she said.
the pigeons paraded, confident
the crows pricked the plastic bags
dust lay light, dusk came slow
A football match, it’s that.

“It is clear that senators would not be satisfied until they gained access to internal documents concerning advice provided during her tenure at the White House — disclosures that would undermine a president’s ability to receive candid counsel,” Bush said in the statement.

Funny. When I complain to my Repub relatives about the loss of privacy and civil rights under the PATRIOT act, they say “what’s to worry about, unless you have something to hide.”
Dope. Why nominate the one who’s been rinsing out yer skivvies.

A quickening chill-
Encircled, the Aspens quake:
A season called Fall
Regime on the Rocks
Make that two in a row-
Rich men grow richer
So many friends in need
Wolf Paul grins behind bank grate
Can I make a loan?
How the bold grow cold
Awaiting an unknown fate-
Which we know too well
Get Out of Jail Free!
Who has got the (Andy) Card?
Sound of Chimp Laughing
Chorus of Voices:
Scooter, Libby, Hadley, Dick
All waiting to sing
**********
And two by my favorite, Soseki:
A wood block spews out mosquitoes
That have been confined during the daytimes
by being beaten with stick” (as of 1895)
The winds that blow
Ask them which leaf on the tree
Will be next to go?

oh holy night
the light is brightly shinning
on all the lies that have led us to war
long live the truth the light shines in abundance
for fitz appear’d and the soul felt his worth.
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn!
Fall on your knees
Oh, hear the first indictments!
O truth divine! O truth when fitz reveals!
O truth divine! O truth, o truth divine!
Led by the light of faith and honor beaming
With hoping hearts by his conscious we stand
So led by light of integrity gleaming
came the wise man of immigrants from ireland
to bring down cons who try to entrap us
in endless wars trading oil for our souls
Truly he’ll teach they can’t hide behind lies
His law is truth and his gospel is justice
Chains shall he break for the slave is our brother
And in our name all oppression shall cease
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,
Let all within us praise redemption now.

There once was a great ship of state
That took on some hazardous freight
The ship sprung a leak
The rats they all squeaked
As they ran from this ominous fate
There were certain black assholes of note
Who when thrown could not even float
They sank to the bottom
Where some sea monsters got’em
Although it is said that one choked
The people never really looked back
As they leapt and ran from the trap
But as the years did unfold
And the stories were told
The children, they laughed and they laughed.

This is Super. (From Sam Smith today – picked up somewhere on the web.)
‘Twas the night before Fitzmas, and in the White House
Every one was scared shitless, and Bush was quite soused.
The indictments were hanging like Damocles’ sword
As verminous oxen prepared to be gored.
The perps were all sleepless, curled fetal in bed,
While visions of prison cells loomed in each head.
And Dick in his jammies and George in his lap
Were sweating and swearing and looking like crap.
When out on the web there arose such a clatter,
The blogs and the forums were buzzing with chatter.
Away to the PC Rove ran like a flash;
He booted his browser and cleared out his cache.
The rumors that flew through the cold autumn air
Made Dubya shiver with angry despair.
When what to his horror-filled eyes did he spy?
A bespectacled man with a brown suit and tie!
With an impartial manner that gave Bush the shits,
He knew in a moment it must be St. Fitz!
With unwavering voice, his indictments they came.
He cleared out his throat and he called them by name:
Now Scooter, Now Libby,
Now Blossoming Turd,
Now Cheney, dear Cheney,
Yes, you are the third.
To the bench of the court,
Up the steps, down the hall,
Now come along, come along,
Come along, all!
He then became silent and went right to work.
He filed the indictments and turned with a jerk
And, pointing his finger at justice’s scale,
Said, “The people be served, and let fairness prevail.”
He then left the room, to his team gave a nod,
And the sound could be heard of a crumbling facade.
And we all did exclaim, as he faded from sight
“Merry Fitzmas to all, and to all a good night!”

They say you can’t have
your Yellowcake and eat it.
Wilson proved them wrong.
Frogmarch? As sweet a
dance for neo-con feet as
the Fitzgerald Waltz.
Witch’s broom, new moon,
Cleaning house beneath the stars.
Can we cleanse our soul?
So we kick out the
crooks. Feels good. But what about
the thousands still dead?
A few bad apples
unceremoniously
ditched. Barrel still stinks.
