I suspect Billmon is pretty safe since any attempt to hassle him about his photoshop work would serve to publicise his point about Delay.
The bit I don’t understand is why US workers whose pension funds are made to buy stock in these corporations which specialise in keeping their face in the dirt, aren’t screaming about being ripped off.
Insider trading is theft of shareholder funds pure and simple so every small investor in the US has subsidised Delay’s nestegg out of their own retirement fund.
The corporate media aren’t going to say a word particularly not the broker’s shills who write on the finance pages. They would give their left nut for a tip like that. That means that people have to get angry and outraged about this (yawn). Yes it is a big ask in light of the current state of the outrage meter but like water dripping on stone the bastards have to be worn down.

When everything is run like a corporation (or privatized} what do you expect?
After an Edmonton journalist wrote an article criticizing red light and speed cameras in the city (citing statistics that the cameras “raise about $14 million annually for police” but do nothing to reduce traffic injuries), the police there targeted him in a sting operation, hoping to bust him on drunk driving charges.
The police broke the law when they used a restricted database to obtain information on the journalist (who, much to the dismay of the police, had a clean record). The police were also unsuccessful in their attempt to bust the journalist.
Now the police are saying they were only doing their duty to serve and protect… themselves, that is.
Note I post this here, hopefully, to show that this is merely a microcosm within the bigger system.

“Manufacturers and purveyors?”
Wonder if the purveyors include hotel chains like Hiatt and Sheraton or distributors like cable and satellite companies. (How do you feel about this, Rupert?) They have no production costs for porn and don’t have to do anything to their existing set-ups to carry porn, so every charge they make for broadcasting it goes right to their bottom lines. All those businessmen who watch this stuff while attending pointless conventions will be pissed off, but the companies will think the real obsenity is the fed’s hands on their easy money. Could have the effect of a cold shower on some GOP campaign contributions. OTOH, the public isn’t generally aware of all the money “legit” business makes off porn, so maybe the Bible Thumpers will be satisfied with busting a few production outfits.

Women force fed to achieve cultural ideal of beauty
“Gavage” left some women struggling to walk, not just because of their weight — which often tops 90 kg (198 lb) — but because they were tortured as they were force-fed.
Some had their fingers or toes broken so the pain would distract them from having to swallow the milk and porridge. Others had their feet crushed by a “zayar” — a wooden vice which would only be loosened once they ate.
“Above all it causes cardiac problems, problems during childbirth. Even from the point of view of work, obese women are less productive,” said Baba Sy.
“They get tired very quickly, out of breath. Psychologically it is very damaging. You can’t do the same things as other women — you can’t even pray properly,” she added.
Some children were tied down while being fed and were forced to eat whatever they vomited up during the ordeal, Baba Sy said. The force-feeding often lasted years.
