Moon of Alabama Brecht quote
September 22, 2005
War War

You know, something we — I’ve been thinking a lot about how America has
responded, and it’s clear to me that Americans value human life, and value
every person as important.  And that stands in stark contrast, by the way,
to the terrorists we have to deal with.

You see, we look at the
destruction caused by Katrina, and our hearts break.  They’re the kind of
people who look at Katrina and wish they had caused it.  We’re in a war
against these people.  It’s a war on terror.

These people are misguided followers of Islam.  They even allow themselves to marry more than one wife.  Such people look at Katrina and they look at Rita. They wish they had caused both of them.  So now we need to double our efforts.  We are in a war war against these people.  It’s a war war on terror.

But as I say to my wife, Condi, I say, freedom is on the march and on the april. It is coming and coming.

I want to thank you for your friendship, thank you for the love of America. Thanks to you and to the Hurricanes.

Cheers!

We’ll make sure your money is spent wisely. We’re going to make sure we make tough choices and set priorities here in Washington, D.C. And we’re going to make sure that the money is spent honestly by sending a team of inspector generals [sic] down there to review all expenditures. That’s what the people of this country expect, and that’s exactly what we’re going to do.

it’s either like listening in on a red-state bar near closing time, or some devious subliminal programming…

Iraq is the central battlefront in the war on terror. It’s not the only place we’re fighting the terrorists, but it’s the central front right now. You see, the terrorists want to turn that country into what Afghanistan was. Imagine a place like Iraq, where they’ve got safe haven to plot and train. That’s what they want. That’s why they’re pouring in there. That’s why they’re going into the country. That’s why they’re trying to create instability. They got a powerful weapon — these car bombs that end up on our TV screens. They got the capacity to affect our conscience because we value every life. Every person matters to the United States — people of the United States of America. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a — living in Iraq, or right here at home, we care, deeply. And they know that. And they’re trying to get us out of there, is what they’re trying to do, for a strategic objective. They want to be able to continue their war against freedom-loving people, with Iraq as the base.

Reports from New Orleans, as predicted, Halliburton et al
have reserved all available hotels and leased space for migrant
workers to perform the reconstruction work, negotiated bid basis,
meaning the cheaper they can do the work, the more profits they
will make, [hence the suspension of prevailing wages], and cost-
plus award-fee for administrative costs, meaning the more they
spend on SUV’s, hotels and leased space, the more profits they make.
Halliburton is already being investigated on 28 cases of DoD fraud.
Their strategy is to commit frauds in 2005 dollars, so that when
they have to pay back some small portion of that in 2010 dollars,
they’ll have already made a profit on the profit from the fraud.
[Anyway, that’s another story, what happens in an banker-gaming
society with hot money, ARM’s and monopolistic-driven inflation]
Few citizens of New Orleans can, or will be employed. Schools
are suspended for the year, and the city is still evacuated.
Only transient workers, single-status. Gotta make room for the
returning troops and National Guard, so they don’t end up on
the streets as burned out crack addicts, like back in Nam.
Let the blacks become crack addicts in Texas shelters, or
working in Arkansas slaughterhouses for Tyson Foods. They
ain’t never goin’ back to N’Orleans, and we ain’t even
goin’ back to American Flag, Mom and Apple Pie, neither.

Police and SWAT riot gear sales are going through the roof
on FEMA funding for “anti-terrorist” procurement, that will
be then used instead for crowd-control of American citizens.
The tin-foil hats were right about FEMA, but just not in
the way they thought it would play out.
“Freedom is universal; people want to live in freedom, and the more the world becomes free, those who live in darkness will demand the light of freedom. And as freedom advances, we’re ***laying the foundation of peace*** for our children and our grandchildren.”
GW Bush, 2005
When he says “our”, George ain’t talkin’ about “your’n”, holmes.
Our problem is, we think arithmetically. They think geometrically.
We think linearly, in two D. They think nuclearly, in four D.
There are more of them than US, and they have all the tax money.
You ain’t never gonna get no say-so in how you live, and you ain’t
never gonna get none of your tax money back. Know’m sayin’, essa?

Re: Hurricane Force

Q Have you guys figured out who hung that banner from the bridge when the President came aboard the USS Iwo Jima in New Orleans Wednesday?
MR. McCLELLAN: That, um, matter is still under investigation by the Navy and the Secret Service. But my, uh, understanding is that it was a spontaneous effort on the part of the crew to welcome their Commander in Chief . . .
Q But Scott, it said: “Accomplish This, Asshole.”

So now there’s coffee all over my monitor. Thanks, Billmon!

I say, freedom is on the march and on the april. It is coming and coming.
Actually, it’s either coming or going, but doesn’t know which — just as Bush doesn’t now whether he’s coming or going.

Sam Smith weighs in w/this:
BRASSCHECK – New Orleans residents – including thousands of experienced tradesmen – are not being recruited for the reconstruction effort. . . FEMA is granting contracts to companies without conferring with or even disclosing their names to local New Orleans officials. .
. * Instead of hiring New Orleans residents, FEMA contractors are hiring illegal aliens from Mexico and the Carribean. . . The New Orleans City Council, which represents the people of New Orleans, is being systematically left out of the loop on reconstruction issues.

DC Dems need to get on the Stick & Make Enough Noise to embarrass them out of this, one implores optimistically..

It’s unreadable…I tried just to find out is this some kind of satire or real stuff… Unbelievable…But hey all the brutal stupidity and frauds are almost certainly necessary in order that Americans (and other nations that are their allies) broadly open their “hypnotized” eyes…
Most of the people of the rest of the world are awake and aware…

just playing devil’s advocate but when you said
“it’s clear to me that Americans value human life, and value every person as important. And that stands in stark contrast, by the way, to the terrorists we have to deal with.” it sounds like wishfull thinking, I mean sure we are generally decent people and do care but if you look at the facts we have killed a shitload of people and still have no legal reason to be there. It only takes one insane terrorist to do despicable evil and we’re killing peoples family members daily which is only going to tip more half-crazed people over the edge. We need to grow up, violence does beget violence and we have to not forget that our own people are capable of these things too, fighting in Iraq doesn’t stop another Timothy McVey or Osama Bin Laden and even if we killed every terrorist except one he could still wipe us out because we made so many nukes and germs and chemicals. The war might be won on some level but you’ll never stop terrorism because it is a definition that is fluid. old GW was a terrorist to the Brits, the Jewish terrorists won their ‘homeland’ back, Pat Robertson advocates killing people for a cause too. When in the hell is the human race gonna grow up?
