RBN: We will continue this program after a short message from our sponsor:

Extremely pleased that Ruff Wear is able to provide protection to canines facing harsh conditions is founder, Patrick Kruse. “Because Ruff Wear’s goals are to enhance the interdependent lives of canines and humans, we are concerned about the well-being of the dogs involved in the war. We are honored to be able to work with government agencies to accommodate and supply items that protect our four-legged friends.”

Working with the Technical Support Working Group (TSWG), Ruff Wear was able to send 60 pairs of boots to canines in Iraq. The group, dedicated to anti-terrorism efforts, has pursued combating terrorism technologies in the broad context of national security. Equally thrilled about the 3D Bark’n Boots, TSWG officials sent photos of the dogs sporting their protective paw-wear.

The boot is built to mimic the shape of a dog’s ankle and paw; the flexible 3D upper is made of highly durable nylon Cordura®. A strap at the top of the boot ensures a comfortable, secure fit. The sole of the boot is made of a recycled rubber, which provides an incredible “grippy” surface. It offers great traction without sacrificing flexibility or movement.

Ruff Wear’s mission is to enhance the interactive bond between canines and their human guardians. Ruff Wear encourages an active lifestyle for everyone with a four-legged friend – stay fit, healthy and happy – whether it’s 15 minutes of playtime, a long walk, or day hike. Our gear For Dogs On the Go® combines performance, quality, fit, function and safety to meet the needs of active and adventurous canines and their companions. Based in Bend, Oregon, Ruff Wear sells their line through specialty pet and outdoor retailers as well as through www.ruffwear.com

Thank you for your patience. We are now returning to our original programming.

Sounds as if American army dogs are better equipped than Iraqi soldiers.
And we all know how ‘military working dogs’ were used at Abu Ghraib.
