WB: More Deadpan Humor

I have to tip my hat to Sgt. Wood for managing to report Cheney’s comments accurately and objectively […] while still making it abundantly clear what a total mental case the vice president has become.

Never thought I’d be so encouraged by something so bland.

Iraq?

With Iraq strategy a subject of such hot debate, Dr. Jaafari seemed a bit taken aback at the pressures of news coverage in Washington, racing from television interview to speeches to visits with wounded American soldiers, whom he thanked.
Still, at the White House, Dr. Jaafari urged Mr. Bush to “redo a Marshall plan,” a reference to the American rebuilding of Europe after World War II, suggesting that he call it “the Bush Plan, to help Iraq, to help the Iraqi people.”
The president, who invoked the Marshall Plan two years ago when he called for the rebuilding of Afghanistan, said nothing more and ended the news conference.

If you haven’t seen
&nbspGI Special
check it out.
Quite a few Americans in uniform see through these guys. They’re the ones who’ve been sent to Iraq to murder or be murdered, or maimed, so their bullshit detectors are extremely acute.
There’s a reason Mr Freedom Fries, whose district is the United States Marines, has done an about face.

Exactly.
THIS is where the Downing Street Minutes are biting.
In the armed forces.
They can no longer lie to themselves about what they are doing.
They’re getting into shooting battles with the mercenaries.
The National Guard signed up to defend their own land and people.
It’s potentially much more explosive than Vietnam.
