High Value Detainees

Yes, the prisoners held without charge at Gitmo have never had it so good – and the US has never been so delusional.
Meanwhile, in the UK we have been having our own little ‘let them eat cake’ moment, with Labour government minister Margaret Hodge telling RoverMG workers, who have been recently laid off after the carmaker went bust, that they’ll be able to get jobs at Tesco, an upscale supermarket, once the former factory site is converted into a retail park.
Choice, opportunity, liberty, freedom – it’s all out there, you’ve just got to look for it.

We know it’s satire, and not something that really happened, because Bush spoke in complete, coherent sentences. He was even grammatical, for a Texan.
Ergo, it had to be fake.

when rumsfeld was feeding the press the line that the u.s. is spending more money per meal per detainee at gitmo than they do for the the u.s. troops, i had to LOL until i realized that nobody was going to take that stmt further and ask the SEC DEF why it spends so little on their own soldiers. as stan goff put it, these guys care about their troops the way tyson cares about chickens. i imagine that many soldiers didn’t miss this point. when’s the last time rumsfeld or bush had a MRE?
