that’s the best one so far, imo. a portrait of america sent from hell. that terrible, pinched-faced certitude; the interminable gloating of a fraud; the savage pettiness; the look of ceausescu just before he is shot, stupidly defiant until the end. thank you.

The House votes on withdrawing troops from Iraq: Now we know where they stand

On the evening of May 25, the U.S. House of Representatives considered an amendment offered by Representative Lynn Woolsey (D-CA) calling for an exit strategy from Iraq. Amendment No. 26 simply stated:

“It is the sense of Congress that the president should—
1) develop a plan as soon as practicable after the date of the enactment of this Act to provide for the withdrawal of United States Armed Forces from Iraq; and
2) transmit to the congressional defense committees a report that contains the plan described in paragraph (1).”

In the end the amendment failed—by a vote of 300 to 128 with 5 not voting.

& i hope he burns in hell, wherever that is – i presume somewhere in crawford, texas
the images of infamy need to be burnt into our hearts
& certain phrases forever banished from the language
“i have a mandate & now i want to spend it”
“mission accomplished”
i hope in my lifetime to see this whole crew in the hague where they belong for their crimes of war & their crimes against humanity
thank you for the friday offerings, anna missed

Juannie pointed to this Harpers piece Soldiers of Christ.
The Clash of Civilization as documented in the posted links and the Harpers piece is deliberate.

Just a suggestion for this title:
Call 911

Posted by: Friendly Fire | May 27 2005 21:16 utc | 8

I will reiterate, that while these protest are occurring, the overall objective is to stir the pot, on both sides. Stoke the rage, hate and anger. Justify violence through the frame of Armageddon. True spiritual understanding is drowned out in this environment, and actively abusing the lack of understanding is the essence of evil.

Good post dt, very true. Also true…..”You get the kind of government you deserve.” The bovine American public is reaping its just rewards, and it isn’t even close to being over.

Concerning the “clash of civilizations”, here is a post – moving in its perplexity and its presumption of honor – by Raed’s mother, Faiza.

Bomb blasts in Indonesian Christian town kill 19

Two bomb blasts ripped through a crowded market in a Christian town in eastern Indonesia on Saturday, killing 19 people in an attack likely to raise fears sectarian bloodshed could again break out in the region.
Police said the attacks occured in the lakeside town of Tentena, on the eastern island of Sulawesi, part of an area where three years of Muslim-Christian clashes killed 2,000 people until a peace deal was agreed in late 2001.

koreyel- LOL.
I saw this one and thought that it would be appropriate to take a wedge and split the wood, then physically rip apart the wood just above the image to get splintered wood. sort of a metaphor for the Bush presidency.
anna missed…how do you sleep at night after working on one of these? :/

It’s nice to see Bu$hie’s Dominionist owners and major shareholders the Saudis are getting the War on Terra they paid for.

Let us see now. The same towelheads who are rioting over possible mishandling of their holy book have no problem with suicide bombers blowing up innocent people, they willingly destroy anything Jewish, they burn the American flag on every occasion, and they danced in the streets when 3000 Americans died on 9-11. Oh, yeah, we must respect their views all right.

Posted by: Bruce Small | May 28 2005 18:27 utc | 20

Since you are letting “them” dictate your vengeful “standards,” Bruce Small, you will of course be treating them with all the contempt that makes your sentences tremble so. But as for that we stuff, Bruce Baby, I invite you to forget it, because I (for one) just won’t go where you going with this.

Posted by: alabama | May 28 2005 19:29 utc | 21

where you’re going with this….

Posted by: alabama | May 28 2005 19:30 utc | 22

they danced in the streets when 3000 Americans died on 9-11
It is unknown in what situation and at what date/time those picture have been shoot. Now there was some partying when the U.S. started to bomb Bagdhad.
Those folks you talk degregading of as towelheads do have as many problems with suicide bombers as we have (they get blown up daily), they have no problems with jews or christians or anybody else if these do not invade their land, and last time I looked the burning of the American flag was a RIGHT covered by the U.S. first ammendment.
How did you get your lastname by the way?

Posted by: b | May 28 2005 19:38 utc | 23

anna missed, I would have commented sooner. Computer problem plus timeout to be outside.
Wood is a perfect medium for your subject. The analogies are endless.
Wooden, blockhead, “need some wood?”, wooden boy [Pinnochio], it’s even an archaic adjective for insane. Yes, and peckerwood too.
Anyway, well done, as always, anna missed. Thank you.
fauxreal, he sleeps a little better after working on these, is my guess.
