Billmon: Scenes …

Scenes We’d Like to See

The remaining defendants were sentenced to life terms at the Guantanamo War Crimes Penitentiary — the same facility used to imprison the remaining leaders of the Al Qaeda terrrorist organization, whose own war crimes trial began shortly after this picture was taken.

Comments

Only last week, I posted this link to my fantasy of what Bush’s fate should be. Great minds etc.

Oh! If only!
I don’t see Perle there, but maybe he was sitting between Tony and Sanchez and they have already taken him out to be hanged.

What a vision! If enough people envision it – it might become true.

Where’s Berlusconi?

The strongest and most compelling statement I have seen in a long time. A picture really is worth 1000 words. Keep it up.

CP: hung by a mob after the revolution.

Posted by: Colman | May 16 2005 10:46 utc | 10

Follow-up to CP’s question: Where’s John Howard? OK, he’s a very small player compared to W or even Bliard, but still…

Well,
the international court only deals with crimes that has not been dealt with by national court-systems – I write and then I become uncertain, is this so? Ah, I will assume it – so Berlusconi and Howard must have been dealt with, mobstyle or otherwise.

The international court is indeed “complementary to national courts”
The statutes of the court can be downloaded

Well, here’s a Step in the Right Direction. Conservative former assoc. edit. of WSJ editorial page, Paul Craig Roberts, calls for Jr’s Impeachment.
America’s Reputation in Tatters
George W. Bush and his gang of neocon warmongers have destroyed America’s reputation. It is likely to stay destroyed, because at this point the only way to restore America’s reputation would be to impeach and convict President Bush for intentionally deceiving Congress and the American people in order to start a war of aggression against a country that posed no threat to the U.S. America can redeem itself only by holding Bush accountable.
As intent as Republicans were to impeach President Clinton for lying about a sexual affair, they have a blind eye for President Bush’s far more serious lies. Bush’s lies have caused the deaths of tens of thousands of people, injured and maimed tens of thousands more, devastated a country, destroyed America’s reputation, caused one billion Muslims to hate America, ruined our alliances with Europe, created a police state at home, and squandered $300 billion and counting.

Abundant evidence now exists in the public domain to convict George W. Bush of the crime of the century….
This memo is the mother of all smoking guns.
Why isn’t Bush in the dock?
Has American democracy failed at home?

Too bad Dean’s no longer available to help get this on the agenda. Bets on whether any aspiring ’08 candidates from Pirate Party will run with it???

The ICC is not the answer — for starters, they don’t have a death penalty, whereas War Crimes (violation of Geneva Accords) and torture are both capital crimes under federal law. To restore America’s honor, Bush and his henchmen should be impeached, tried, convicted, and executed under U.S. law.
