What if ..
… your teen already had sex?
If you find out your son or daughter has already had sex, it’s important for you to take them to a health care professional to be screened for pregnancy and/or sexually transmitted diseases. Be sure to tell your teen that having multiple partners in their lifetime can be one of the biggest threats to their physical and emotional health.
U.S. federal taxes spend on 4parents.gov,
part of a new national public education campaign to provide parents with the information, tools and skills they need to help their teens make the healthiest choices.

I was at the store yesterday and ran into Kendrick, Mrs. Jakes’ son. He joined the military after high school. What do you think you want to do when you graduate from high school?
"to help their teens make the healthiest choices" – join the military?
from the posted link:
According to a survey by Seventeen Magazine, 55% of teenagers have tried oral sex. More and more newspapers are reporting oral sex between children at school, during class, on school buses and at parties. In some cases these youth are being charged with sexual crimes. Parents must make it clear to their children that oral sex is as dangerous in terms of disease as is intercourse.
More and more newspapers reporting about oral sex on school buses and in class? I must have missed that.
That said, Britain is apalled at the results of the latest survey (by Bliss magazine) that shows that between 20 and 26 % of 14 year-old girls have had sex, and on average with multiple partners, often under the influence, either of the bottle or what was termed ‘assault’ or ‘coercion’. Usually ‘unprotected’ sex.

That state of affairs is not new –
Part of the cultural attraction of Anglo culture and US hubris has been (post ww2) the adolescent sub-culture of both covert and claimed freedom – e.g. in the US, cars (mobility), violence (self-affirmation), sex (nirvana), drugs, money, clothes, food not prepared at home, scoffs at traditional values and religious strictures – a wealth of dreams coupled with the possibility of on-the-ground, permitted, socially approved, safe, rebellion and predatory greed.
That culture has been exploited for commercial purposes (perhaps adult sexual ones as well, who knows?), encouraged internally, fitting in with entrepreneurship, winning, creativity, personal hubris. It has also been exported for political reasons.
Traditional societies have seen their young people subjugated by Coke, Blondes, bare breasts, fast cars, thrilling music, and all the rest. Dreaming of more, better, different, cool, breeze in their hair… Open doors; but very important.
First, one could say that the present repressive atmosphere is related to the greater medical risks associated with teen sex since 1990 (Aids, sexually transmitted diseases that are hard to cure leading to sterility, etc.) and a growing intolerance for any projected damage, insult, evident all over the shivering, frightened West. Rape is a drama that may damage a woman for ever….A ravine without a protective barrier is a crime that sends a mayor to prison after a little child totters and almost drowns.
Second, the sexual repression is part and parcel of a conservative, nationalistic backlash. A hankering for white supremacy (upper-class supremacy in GB – bit the same), isolationist foreign policy, a return to the fairly glorious 19th, where all were respectable, or if not were just scorned, and child / teen sex (often exploited by adults) was simply hush-hush, undergound, not a matter of either Official concern (except occasionally .. those rotten girls who fell by the wayside – splendid scapegoating and rationalisation) but was not a source of pride and gla’mo.
Authoritarian movements have always turned women into adoring faithful wives, pure girls, innocent cuties, smiling charmingly over hot stoves, stony ground sparsely planted; weeping over dead sons and demolished cathedrals. All who can be made to bow down and obey must. And the young must kneel too, and then rise up with banners, pure and valiant. The Taliban understood this better than anyone. (Moonies trying ..)
Third, any –yes any– new rules or new norms, arbitrary, strange, irrational, serve to distinguish the chaff from the wheat. Those who proclaim, enforce, agree, watch the nudges and the winks, accept the pittance that comes with the capo hat, the slipped small wad of dollars, the chance to command, to torture, to kill, to coerce, to blame, to spit – ah those can be counted on. The others — not.
