Moon of Alabama Brecht quote
February 3, 2005
State of the Union

Pay back for his staunch religious-conservative supporters as Bush condemns gay-marriage:

For the good of families, children and society, I support a constitutional amendment to protect the institution of marriage.
WaPo transcript of the speech.

But some kissing with best friend Lieberman is not (yet) unconstitutional. Condi would be furious, if she would know what her husb-  is really risking.

Whew… Had to come over from the “Manhood” thread to get some air…I wish everyone could read all of that.

Awwww b, nowhere to run, nowhere to hide.

Considering that Lieberman just voted to appoint Gonzales as Torturer General, that isn’t too surprising.
Now, if anyone would care to explain me how a right-wing neo-con hack like Joe Lieberman can still be in the Democratic Party…

…not to mention Zell…

This is not the first time Bush has predicted bankruptcy for Social Security. This time, however, he is in a position to see that his prediction comes true.

Lilly livered Lieberman has sold out. He might as well become a repug. He needs targeted in the next election, 2006. Maybe he’ll get some of that old time religion called progressive politics.
I heard a fellow on the Tony Tripiano show today that was a former vice president of Citibank. His take on SS is my take. The repubs want to default on what is owed the SS trust fund. He said in 2000 income tax revenues were one trillion dollars. This year income tax will bring in 800 billion. They have been using the 165 billion extra SS while giving tax breaks to the rich. They want to starve the SS system and kill it. The frat boy Bush rides on.

Actually, that kiss reminded me not of “the love that darn not speak its name” (I love that phrase) but on the one that Judas layed on Jesus.

darn=dare, and I “corrected” it to darn while I was writing. Some kind of Freudian(?) slip?

Iran and Syria hit back at Bush – President’s vow to target Tehran and Damascus in push for peace and democracy causes anger and fear in region

The American president’s state of the union speech on Wednesday night identified Syria and Iran as the primary obstacles to the Bush administration’s declared mission to spread peace and democracy in the Middle East.
It sent tremors through the region, raising fears that the administration might have more military action on its second-term agenda.
Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, denounced the United States as “like one of the big heads of a seven-headed dragon”, menacing his country under the direction of “Zionist and non-Zionist capitalists”.
“Bush is the fifth US president seeking to uproot the Iranian nation and the Islamic Republic of Iran. Carter, Reagan and father Bush and Clinton failed. This president will also fail,” the Associated Press quoted him as saying

I especially like Bush’s projection in the first paragraph.

Stupid I know, but I couldn’t resist – here. Guess I am still hoping for a reason for impeachment :^)

@ Fran…
Is it just me, or when you look at that cute lil ole grinnin’ face, does it begin to morph into one of the meanest, cruelst visages ever beheld?

Posted by: Mercuria | Feb 4 2005 12:41 utc | 14

Mercuria,
no it is not just you. I have a hard time looking at him and avoid to most of the time. But then I do not want to avoid looking at reality and start living in a bubble, unfortunately he is there. Sometimes I wonder what it would be like to have a mind like his…?! But then I find, I rather not find out.

Bush is a little man, a very little man. It is the movement behind him that has made him so large. They are the people I am really scared of. When Bush exits the stage, they will find another one to do for them what he is doing. The next one may actually be competent.
