Why is it okay for Medicare prescription benefit to cover Viagra for men, but not contraception for women?

Indeed, Uncle. I’ll never understand how these bastards managed to scam healthcare so that such a frivolous thing as Viagra can be covered. Why not cover snake-oil?

My wife and I are talking again about getting out. We don’t want to raise our girls in a country where you vote doesn’t count and innocent people are being exterminated in the name of liberty and freedom.

Because loss of self-esteem as an outcome of society’s ills as experienced by middle-aged or elderly men in the West (obesity, diabetes, heart, allergies, poor muscles, etc.) can be compensated for by sexual success. The men have some power (statistically speaking; their average position in society, etc. ) and the pills are cheap. Keeps the system going.
Contraception? Nooo… growth at all costs. Parents will do their best to bring up kids; these may nevetheless be useful at some point.

Motherfucking assholes. Some old geezer’s hard on is more important than basic health insurance for people in this country. If they can fund viagra, by god they can have universal health care.

there was a brand of tea bags that would have little sayings on the tags, 30 years ago – maybe it still exists, but the supermarket i usually go to doesn’t carry it
one i recall reading (and i was then in my 20s) –
“40 is the old age of youth
50 is the youth of old age”
now i have personal experience of just what that means
and speaking of the hungry heart, there’s the randy newman song lyric –
“they say that money

but, to be completely serious for a moment, i agree with your general sentiment – i think that single payer plan universal health care would be the very most humane and civilized way to go – the fact that we don’t have it is just another indication that we (united statesians) are not living in a humane and civilized society
