“Jay Rockefeller…suddenly changed his tune.”
Threats? Blackmail?
Lets face it folks, there is more going on here than good old-fashioned nasty politics. From the beginning I could not believe that it was possible to rig everything so neatly in favor of on small self-interested greed party. And it has gotten much worse lately, as Billmon points out. Desperate, but so far it is working.
It only has to work for a limited time, which to me explains why logic and credibility are trampled so cavalierly in justification for this or that. Limited time. Unnecessary that it withstand the scrutiny of historians. Need to fool em only once and by the time they – the people – come to their senses it will be too late.
The drive started with the Iraq invasion; “Hurry hurry hurry. Can’t wait. The time is now.”
Something big is coming down soon, and whether it succeeds – God forbid – or not, it will be very destructive. Kerry, in the event he is elected (haha) won’t stop it but may just slow the schedule some.
The point of this rant is to get a bit of help in seeing through the cracks in the facade; who is back there and what is their objective? Greed is the easy answer but I can’t believe it is the whole answer.

rapt, maybe in the past year up close Bush is seen to be really off, and he’s threatening something and is being placated. Or there’s greed plus a scheme, and the haste has to do with Bush being thought too dysfunctional to cope much longer. Or these combined… ?? Beyond the general overall heist part I can’t think what the scheme would be.

One fact that we have established in this puzzle is that bushco has not done the right things to get re-(s)elected. Rove knows better than this if his true objective is to win an election. Therefore I take it that their assumption is that they don’t need to win. They already have the office and possession is 99% of ownership or something like that…
Herr Ashcroft seems to be in a big hurry now to establish martial law, round up all those terrsts and while we’re at it get the pansyassed libruls too.
I’m tellin ya there’s more here than meets the eye. And I want to know what is the hidden agenda and whose agenda is it. So far we’ve been watching the puppet show before the curtain goes up on the main feature.
Pass the popcorn.

transcript of outtakes from Fahrenheit 9/11:

INTERVIEWER: [Y]ou come from intelligence. This is what you did, this is what you know.
REP. GOSS: Uh, that was, uh, 35 years ago.
INTERVIEWER: Okay.
REP. GOSS: It is true I was in CIA from approximately the late 50’s to approximately the early 70’s. And it’s true I was a case officer, clandestine services officer and yes, I do understand the core mission of the business. I couldn’t get a job with CIA today. I am not qualified. I don’t have the language skills. I, you know, my language skills were romance languages and stuff. We’re looking for Arabists today. I don’t have the cultural background probably. And I certainly don’t have the technical skills, uh, as my children remind me every day, ‘Dad you got to get better on your computer.’ Uh, so, the things that you need to have, I don’t have.
– Rep. Porter Goss, March 3, 2004, Washington, DC
